Need To Vent

I am sick and tired of seeing lower end car manufacturers and other Chrysler models with more options than my 14 Limited have. I currently have a 15 Dart Limited loaner car with at least a handful of options that I don't have and would like. I payed over 40K like everybody else with a Limited and this Darts sticker is 25K fully loaded. I think its pretty sad that Chrysler treats its customers like this and milks every penny out of you. Really considering leaving the GC after this lease.

Re: Need To Vent

I remember when one of the low end Chrysler cars got the better nav screen back (in 2010) when I had my 2011 overland. That bugged me. It's how they roll.

You should try driving a 4Runner. It's like taking a trip back to the 90s.

Re: Need To Vent

Greetings,

Fiat/Chrysler or what ever the new name is as of now, is very unpredictable each model year for features. I have an 2011 Laredo X which has an early 2010 build date. I am lucky that I was able to get this model because they discontinued that package later in 2011. Today, I would have to get the Limited to match those features and pay substantially more. Back then, I would have to jump up to the Overland to get those features I wanted plus pay more for other features.

The one thing that I am happy about my decision about getting the GC, it far better than that Pathfinder I used to have.

Best for now.

Re: Need To Vent

Get over it. Every manufacturer follows a strategy that allows it to maximize profits based on what the market can bear. Part of the strategy is pricing the same systems differently in different cars: e.g. the same 8.4 navigation system may be a $ 500 upgrade in Dart and $ 1000 in the Grand Cherokee. Why? Because sales and demographics data and product placing in the market shows that potential Grand Cherokee buyers are willing to pay that much for navigation in their $40000 SUV. But Dart buyers in the $25000 bracket would not pay that much. But Chrysler can maximize profits on the system that cost $200 to make by selling it with different prices in different market segments rather than the same price.

Expand the thought process to packaging the features on different cars in different price brackets. Then drive to ALDI and buy the same Butterball Thanksgiving turkey as the one sold at COSTCO but at half the price (per pound)

Re: Need To Vent

Laredo, Limited, Overland, Summit....you have a step up from the base model, and you're going feature for feature with a fully loaded Dart?

The biggest feature that the dart has is the HID headlights. The base headlights in the GC are absolutely horrible and its a 4K option to upgrade

Are you confusing the Dart's halogen projector headlamps for HID headlamps?
