Re: Never again!

Congrats, Vroooom, and welcome to the WK2 family. My JGC CRD is my first Jeep and I'm loving it, diesel teething pains and all. It's such a comfortable ride on the highways. And out on the trails sometimes my wife and I feel we should be sipping chardonnay when we're in its luxurious interior and we see other couples in open rigs licking the grit and dirt out of their teeth. We almost feel guilty for being in our cushy ride. Almost.

I'll be curious to hear of your experience over time and how it compares to your JKU. Yes they are very different rigs, the JKU and the WK2. If I was younger I would have wanted a JKU but at my age now I find its ride a little too bouncy for every day use, commuting, and for road trips. I'll be 55 this year so maybe it's an age thing. The WK2 is, to my wife and me, the perfect all-around rig for us. On a recent business trip Avis had a JKU available and they let me have that instead of the usual Ford Fusion. I lived with that JKU for two weeks. It was fun, but a little bouncy and stiff.

Again, congrats on the new ride!

Congrats on the new Summit. I also made the "jump" from JKU to a JGC. For similar reasons.
I do a fair commute and have racked up over 19000 km in 5 months as a result. My Overland is much more comfortable ride and the EcoDiesel in mine is paying back in mileage gains. We finally got some winter conditions here in Ontario so I get to play with "snow mode" on the Selec trac.
The "go anywhere...do anything" Jeep mentality is appealing to me as well.

Re: Never again!

I love my Diesel too. Not only the fuel economy but also the range. I've gotten 835 miles (1,335 kms) on a tankful. It's great.

LOL!

Years ago, I went from a Saturn SL to a V8 F150. Talk about a big step...
