Never again!

Never again will I tell anyone that I wish I had a Grand Cherokee.

Because 8 hours ago....I finally got one.

I am not ashamed to admit that more than one tear was shed when I handed over the keys to my 2012 JKU....that Hoss truly earned its keep. 123,000 miles in 3 years...and none of them were gentle...and he never let me down...never even stumbled. This morning it was literally a coin-toss to determine if I would...should...COULD go through with it.

122 miles later....I am pleased with my decision.

All my research...all of the insight I've gained through resources like this forum...all of the advice many of you have given me....

Thanks to yall...I've got one of my own, now....and Im lov'n it.

Still gonna miss my Wrangler. But that's not about buyers remorse.....its more like sellers remorse.

I can only hope that the next owner will respect it as much as I did....not paper it or abuse it. Just love it.

As for me....and my new JGC...so many miles ahead of us....I cannot wait to see what they bring.

Thank you.

Re: Never again!

Need pictures??

Hemi is seductive isn't it? Go buy a Volant CAI with the Donaldson Power core filter, sounds nice, probably adds a few ponies and the filter itself is worth it for the nanofiber element to keep more dirt out. Also a Billet Technology catch can is recommended, keeps a lot of oil and oil snot out of the intake.

We bought a Overland, was down to a Wrangler Unlimited Roubicon or a Overland. Wife choose the overland after we test drove both.

Re: Never again!

Wrangler to V8 Summit. That is a big step. You might need a note from your mother to do that. Enjoy.

Never again!

Yeah it's definitely crazy that the same automaker can make a Jeep that's extremely uncomfortable and then a Jeep that's extremely comfortable. I don't know how so many people can daily a JK or whatever they're called. I hate them for anything other than off-roading.

Awwww...now.... It wasnt all that bad.

If I had a "normal" commute of less than 17 miles...It probably woulda been perfect for me. I vastly prefer the "Anything, anywhere, anytime" mentality and have often noted on other forums that the Wrangler is the only vehicle with the name: UNlimited. Because...for all practical purposes, my wrangler was UNlimited. I could do darn near anything.

BUT....I dont have an "average" commute. I dont just use my vehicle to pretend to be a weekend-ruffian. I do spend almost exactly as much time in my vehicle as in my home. So, although the wrangler was an amazingly capable, and relatively comfortable vehicle. I think the Summit will be better at MORE of my needs, and only inferior in an exceptionally small portion.

So...the math leaned towards the summit. Which Im loving.

I've even succeeded in getting ONE of the garage door opener programmed. baby steps.....

Re: Never again!

I guess my point is, if you ever use a wrangler for any 'commuting' you're completely in the wrong vehicle. They suck for 'commuting'. They have a high amount of road and wind noise. They're not safe at all. They're seats suck to sit in. I guess I like creature comfort haha anyways, good choice! Glad to see you sticking with Jeep. The GC is amazing!! Congrats on the Summit
