Not only in the GCs either.
Then the people doing that aren't pushing the shifter all the way forward. Same could be said for a normal shifter, if they aren't pushing it all the way forward it's not gonna be in park lol. Going from park to drive, drive to park, and park to reverse are extremely easy on the '14-'15 shifter and the good thing is those movements are the ones you do 90% of the time. I will say though that going from drive to either neutral or reverse for sure require you to think about it and look at either the shifter or gauge cluster indication to be sure you are where you need to be. Not a huge deal to me, but I suppose I could see some not liking it.

All this hype about the 2016 shifter? Let's have some photos of this bad ass?

Bring up a picture of a 2014 or 2015 and that should do it. No interior/exterior changes with exception to the shifter and 75th anny edition.

My biggest issue is going from Drive to Reverse with the 14/15 shifters. There are 2 methods to do this.

- 2 quick presses forward
- 1 properly timed medium press forward

I back in when I park 99% of the time, so I do this a LOT. I get it right using the second method most of the time. But IMHO, that percentage should be 100%.

And obviously there were enough complaints about the shifter for FCA to change it on the 2016 model.

The only thing I didn't like about the 2015's I test drove was the shifter. I was very pleased that they changed the design on the 2016.

I concur!

It's especially bad when one goes back and forth from driving a vehicle with a properly designed shifter to the GC/300.

Re: New '16 shifter - fit in a '14?

The redesigned shifter was one of the main things that convinced me to hold off ordering and wait for a 2016. But now I'm holding off ordering and waiting for a 2017 because I want Carplay and Android Auto.

Wonder what will make me hold off and wait for a 2018?

Looks like you will never be buying a new car because every year they will have changes and additions over the previous

Exactly. CarPlay is what is preventing me from getting a '16. But since my lease is up on my current car and '17's aren't being released until later this year I'm going to lease a 16 jeep Cherokee and when the 17 JGC is released I'll pick up one of those. I'm lucky I won't take a hit on the lease for the 16 Cherokee because my assignment in Hawaii will be up about the same time the 17's are released so I'll just turn it in to the dealer about 9-10 months from now when I move back to the mainland and pick up a new JGC when I get to my next duty assignment

But surely at some point I can count on the wheels falling off my old Yukon?
