Shifter looks to be the same as that in the Cherokee (KL)

The shifter itself looks fine, but it looks very strange how tall it is and how it just sticks straight up in park. Looks odd.

I didn't know they ever stopped using rose gold. My 14 Overland built 03/14 had gold and my 15 Overland built 06/15 has gold. Is rose gold different?

Re: New '16 shifter - fit in a '14?

I know it's just a shifter, but I think my favorite is in the Acura MDX. Lexus' don't look too bad either though. ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1454287000.214753.jpg

That's very nice.

I hate stick shifters for automatics. There's no point to them, it's not like you shift in manual mode with it anymore, since most cars have steering wheel paddle shifters.

Re: New '16 shifter - fit in a '14?

Yeah actual shifters for automatics are on the way out...well except for the grand Cherokee where too many people bitched and now they are going backwards while other manufacturers are doing things like the Acura one above.

...but, that Acura requires a Super Big Gulp so I have something to rest my hand on.

Actually that is not entirely true. Look at the Chrysler 200 - it is not offered with paddle shifters except in the upper trim and buyers are stuck with a knob. I also wish that automatics that have the paddle shifters, would allow you to select Neutral by either shifting down to 0 (N) or pulling both paddles towards you or having a 3rd and 4th smaller paddle for clutch / neutral like in Formula One.

Of course it is the suckiest place to put it. I go from ECO to SPORT several times during a driving cycle and I love the ability to just pull the shifter and switch between modes (a natural move as my other car has a manual gearbox).
