Re: New 2014 GC Altitude - Already a Problem

Ok...so it was user error. As soon as i left today i hit the paddle and it went to sport mode. Looking at the dash it does say exactly what to do to get out of manual mode, Hold + paddle for 1-2 secs...lol I must have freaked out both times and panicked. Hitting the eco button doesnt do anything but make the screen flash a bit. Thank you Dan and BlckWK2 for getting me from embarrassing myself at the dealership, and everyone else for not laughing too hard.

Re: New 2014 GC Altitude - Already a Problem

Glad to know it was a simple user error than an actual problem with the vehicle. Now you can apologize to your Jeep by purchasing some type of modification.

Re: New 2014 GC Altitude - Already a Problem

LOL - glad it was something simple. I didn't have the dealer explain anything about the 2014 as I had a 2011....but didn't figure I'd hit the paddle shifter by mistake so I know the panicky feeling going to take off in traffic on a major road in an unfamiliar area and just getting revving and revving but not going anywhere and the thought that oh no something is seriously wrong with my new Jeep! It happened twice to me and each time I had to turn if off then back on. Only much later did I figure out what I must have done. Since then I have played around with sport mode and the paddle shifters...fun.

I am laughing with you not at you. When I first got my Jeep I did the exact same thing while making a left turn. I pulled over because I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't come out of second or third gear. Then I realized what I did.
