The chance that the Summit is the only model with that rear bumper is near zero. If the Summit has it, it stands to be reasoned the Overland will have it, and the Limited will likely have it as an option. Heck, it could even be the rear bumper for anything with a V8!

Re: NEW 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee spy pics(thanks 12sleeper!)

My first impression was that this was a test mule that was using a bunch of parts from MOPARs.

After studying the pictures for sometime I see that vehicle is a styling amalgam of parts.

In Jeeps journey to remain a globally relevant vehicle they chose a cleaner European look.

Like others said apart from the styling jeep could have done a few other things to have increased the perceive quality of the Jeep.

For V6 model:

They should have had dual exhaust as well

The V6 models should have had a manual shift mode.

base models should have had manual seats with height and lumbar adjustment too.

Tow and Haul mode.

Re: NEW 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee spy pics(thanks 12sleeper!)

I just noticed something weird. In the picture of the back end of that SRT8 above, I noticed the rear windshield wiper is resting on the opposite side my 2012 Overland's does. Is that an import model where they drive on the wrong side of the street or something? ;-) Do the wipers sit on opposite sides between domestic and import models?

I actually really like it. I am not a fan in any way of the cheap plastic rockers and lower trim on the current model..........to me, it screams unfinished.

Am I the only one who noticed what appears to be a camera mounted in the front air dam/bumper?

Are you talking about the radar-sensor of the ACC-system?

If so, the current models with ACC have that already - of course..

Oh. Didn't realize that's what that was. Looks like a great place for a night vision camera to me.

Yeah, night vision would be an awesome gimmick. Considering that the MY14 and following models will come with a screen in the speedometer, there would already be a nice platform for it.

After all current and announced features, I wouldn't be surprised to see a Jeep with that feature at some point in time.

Re: NEW 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee spy pics(thanks 12sleeper!)

When they typically test a new vehicle or technology on a current model (for example the 8 speed with the CRD engine), how many vehicles do they send out & how many miles do they prefer to run them for to figure out the "bugs"?
