Weird. Just curious what's there not to like about them? They are superior in just about every way possible except for cost and ease of replacement.
They are brighter, much more efficient, last wayyyyy longer, can make very attractive lighting designs (Audi for example), instant on/off, virtually never have to be replaced, and pretty to look at. It's time the Grand Cherokee moves onto LED lights. It's not 1990 anymore, or in Jeep's case 2013.
I'm not picking on you, just kind of curious why someone wouldn't like then.

Weird? Nothing weird about it, I just don't like the way they emit light. I feel the same about fiber optics and floresence lighting. I don't want you to feel like you're picking on me, so go enjoy your LED lights.

Leds Ddo have to be done tastefully, i think Audi and Mercedes are the ones who have truly mastered they way Leds and look.. i hope since our Jeeps (WK2's) had some Mercedes engineering and design teams involved with this model that Jeep finds a way to incorporate them tastefully.

I don't care for the DRL LED strips that are on most cars today, but for tails, brake, and signal lamps, LEDs are far superior in aesthetics and function.

I saw Kia small crossover the other day with the front LEDs. I had to look twice to make sure it was a KIA and not a BMW. They do look sharp without being overly blingy.

exactly ..... I'm more old school, just look at my sigline. Even having a third taillight bugs me.

btw. I still have most of the orginal bulbs in my old 1991 XJ... I've only changed 3 bulbs in 21 years.

Just wondering why they are doing this so soon. Its only been out since 2011. The gmc acadia has been out since 07 and is virtually unchanged. Why not give it another year or two before a refresh?

most of the infrastructure of this Jeep was done before this new electrical infrastructure was available. Thats why the Jeep doesnt have the 8.4 screen etc. The 8 speed is new to ChryCo....so thye have to add it to their 2nd best selling vehicle. The rest is just plastics....which is typical with the GC. Every 3 years it seems theyll do a little refresh half way through that models cycle.

Jeep Grand Cherokee does a refresh every 3 years since 1996 MY. And new model every 6 years.

I personally don't like driving behind or seeing LED brake/rear lights at a distance. My persistence of vision sees them as individual dots instead of regular lights where it's just a light. So if I move my head or eyes quickly from left to right I'll see the LED dots. I hate that feeling and the look. I cringe each time I think that it's the wave of the future and all cars will probably start having them.

It doesn't have to be that way. Right now, LEDs are the new thing. Every manufacturer wants to bring them to your attention. It's easy to add a diffuser to the light to hide the individual LEDs. I sell industrial LED lighting and diffuse is the way to go.
