Agreed, I was going to say the same thing, that font is totally badass. Hope they keep it.

LOL...you people! The rear hatch is pretty much the same look to me. there is just not two pieces to the rear brow and the portion below the window...its all one piece now! The actual tails look to be the same...doubt they would change the rear 1/4 panels in a light refresh. But the hatch lamps MAY be a little different shaped. the only difference really is they are LEDs.
I like the front bumper and headlamps. Look at the current SRT...it has that sorta mean grin to it as well.

I think the style of the 2012 and 2013 is one of the classiest and aggressive looking SUVs out there, and this seems like a step back in terms of class and quality from a stylistic standpoint. I'm sure just about everything else other than the styling (which is a matter of personal preference to everyone) will be a solid upgrade.
It's possible that when Mercedes left they took all the good car stylists with them and this is just Fiat's way of getting their paws in the mix.

I like the back more than my 2012 but that front...no thanks. I too was pretty excited about the 2014 but after seeing those photos, well, not so excited any longer. It's just not my cup of tea, kind of like the design that came after the WJ.

Cant wait to see a Overland and Summit!!!!

I agree...I could get to like the rear, but the front is a mess, IMO. The headlight / grille setup is still some what baffling to me. It looks like an after thought..."let's upgrade these lights but yet keep within the same specs of the older light design by adding plastic filler... and while we "square up" the lights, let's round off the grille and squeeze it in."

I get what you're saying, but honestly, the current SRT is already very close to having too soft of lines, IMO. If you take the lower edge line in your sig pic and curve it alll the way up to the headlights and do away with the squared edges of the grille, it would look very whimpy and soft looking. What little chiseled look there is currently is all but gone with the '14.

The older prototype images would work better with the new headlight design as it's mean and edgy looking and would flow with the lights. Imagine the new lights incorporated into the design below.

Re: New 2014 Spy Pics on Autoblog

The thing that bothers me about the rear tails is how they have softened the inside edges of the lights so its more rounded and mini-van like. The durango is even worse. The original angular design matches the sharp lines of the truck much better IMO.

Also, the space between the two rear tail lights (section where the chrome liftgate strip was removed) is now noticeably shorter which visually makes the Jeep appear more upright and slightly pinched rather than the more wide and planted look of the original.

I doubt it will be black as pictured, but I bet it will be clear plastic as it's obvious they are sticking with the same shape and specs as the current housing.

Sure doesn't look like a filler piece to me! The grill and sections below the headlights appear to be one solid piece in the photos which is very similar to the compass' look/design.

I really hope it is a filler piece because the prototype ajs posted looks far better than the spy shots.

Scott was referring to the solid black piece just below the tape line within the headlights. I think we all agree that the bumper and wide smiley grille piece is legit.

Spot on analysis why the new design comes across softer. I still like everything but the grille. I will have to paint the chrome pieces....
