Yes.

But it wasn't far by any means, sadly. I HAVE driven the 845RE in other vehicles for much longer distances. I love it.

I have driven the new Cayenne with 8-speed tranny and it was very smooth and power availability was very good. The Cayenne always starts in 2nd gear unless you push that "sport" button. I liked the 8-spd tranny and if it is the same ZF sourced one, it will be very good on the new Jeeps.

The Porsche Cayenne 8 Speed Automatic is made by Aisin, not Chrysler/ZF.

And when you drove it...Can you tell a difference (big vs. small) between the 8 and 5spd?

Is that a serious question?

I was thinking more along the lines of...

Sorry, my mistake. I was researching BMWs couple of days ago and "ZF" stood in my mind and for some reason I linked that to the Cayenne.

Thanks for correcting me.

Cheers,

You guys just haven't seen that particular headlamp yet.

Then again I haven't either since the S2s. There is a possibility that it disappeared into oblivion.

The "LED DRLs" are inside the headlamp assembly.
And THIS is why I don't understand some of the decisions by the design team IF they in fact don't use the other headlamp that fills the void. Based on this, it would appear the front was designed with a specific headlamp in mind and then a new one was used that doesn't fill the entire void. This makes NO sense what-so-ever.

I totally agree. I mean, if there was a problem with the initial headlights and they had to develop something else, why on earth would they go with a shape that doesn't fit?

The only explaination to me would be that they needed more time to develop the matching lights and needed something in between for their test-runs.

Re: New 2014 Spy Pics on Autoblog

The '14s are going to look exactly like the '13s. There will be a new tranny and nav screen, that's it. But that alone would not have created the excitement a few photoshopped pictures released to the press could do. At the Detroit show Jeep management will announced that they listened to their customer base and made no sheet metal or plastic changes.

Now, all those who were going to buy it for the new tranny, but said they changed their minds only because of the new look, will have to step up on January 9 and place their orders. If not, they will walk the hall of shame.

This information is based on absolutely nothing. I hope I was able to take your mind off the smiley face Jeep for a few seconds. Sleep well tonight.

Re: New 2014 Spy Pics on Autoblog

I must be the only person that does not automatically see faces in cars. I mean, I can force myself to see them, and I know what you guys are talking about when you say there is a "smile", but when I'm just looking normally, I see hoods, headlights, and bumpers, and I do not interpret the line in these shots as a smile. It's just a curved bumper.
