I really do want to like the 2014 because I'd really hate to give up on the 8speed and some of the other minor upgrades. I'm going to keep an open mind and see if this look grows on me, but I was really hoping for a less drastic change. I think the style of the 2012 and 2013 is one of the classiest and aggressive looking SUVs out there, and this seems like a step back in terms of class and quality from a stylistic standpoint. I'm sure just about everything else other than the styling (which is a matter of personal preference to everyone) will be a solid upgrade.

My initial impression was that rear taillights are similar to the ones on Durango. After closer inspection I agree that shape wise they are different but I think what makes it look similar are proportions. The new GC taillights are just much bigger and dominate the back end of the truck (just like on Durango) and in that sense I think they appear similar.

Re: New 2014 Spy Pics on Autoblog

The refresh has its cues, but the current grille and lower fascia are much nicer.I like the fog light housing and headlamps. Tails are ok, I agree with Roki on how big the tails look. Not enough "grab" for me to trade.

So the Larado doesn't come standard with tow hooks?

versus the Overland

If you enlarge the photo, you can see the headlights on the passenger side and it seem to stick out quite a bit. The black tape seems to de-emphasize the bottom lip of the headlight

Re: New 2014 Spy Pics on Autoblog

I'm gonna cry myself to sleep tonight. This is exactly how I felt when they killed the beautiful WJ and introduced that buck arse ugly WK.

All they had to do was add LED's and maybe release a better looking wheel. Who wanted the darn thing to look like a ford edge.... not me... unless you want to give it color matched handles, cool rims, and significantly less chrome... then maybe.

Re: New 2014 Spy Pics on Autoblog

i wonder if any model will have the same style headlights as the current model...THe earlier spy shots are conflicting regarding the headlights. THe same can be said for the tails which means the earlier shots were obvious test mules with a mix bag of updated parts.
