Priced @ $52k MSRP for 4x4 and HK audio. What do you think this thing will net out to at the dealers?

Re: New: 2015 Grand Cherokee High Altitude Edition

I wonder if the headlights and front bumper can be switched with the Lerado Altitude? I was switching between the Altitude and High Altitude on Jeeps site and it seems the Overland may be a bit wider. So I'm unsure that the front bumper would line up, unless the fenders were changed too. Praying the headlights are capable. That's the only thing I do not like about my Altitude. But the new front bumper on the High Altitude looks so much meaner! I'd be willing to swap front ends (if possible) before trading in a four month old vehicle.

The headlights would need an adapter as they are the HID headlights. The bumper can be swapped, however you will need the fender flares, front and back, the side sills and back bumper. The HA is wider.

Dang! I was hoping I would be able to get away with just doing the fenders and bumper. I don't know if I would want to change the side sills or the rear bumper. But the headlights are a must. With the adapter and LED headlights, would you happen to know if it's a hard install for the dealership? I know the headlights can be costly. But the Halogen lights really throw me off especially when I see another WK2 pass by during the day and the DRLs are just glowing. It gets me jealous.

Edit: You say fender flares, is that something added on top of existing fenders or is the fender replaced? I came from the import scene (owning a bagged 2010 Honda Civic Si) and flares to me is just added to exiting fenders.

I have an Overland, so I am not sure but I have read a few posts on here about people swapping them. Usually through a body shop since it needs an adapter. Although, most say it is too expensive to do. You could look in the Interior/Exterior/Visual section (Interior/Exterior/Visual - Jeep Garage - Jeep Forum) and see if anyone has done it. They can be better of help there.

Something else I saw on there are some headlights similar to the ones on the Overland sold on eBay (eBay Headlights) Those might be easier to do than the OEM ones.

And on the flares, they are the wheel arch surrounds. If you look at the jeep site and compare the Altitude with the High Altitude you can see the Altitude has small surrounds around the wheels, where as the High Altitude has them extended higher. If you look at 2012 Jeep SRT8 Wheel Flare Moldings #WK2SRT8WheelFlares, that is what you would need in addition with 2012 Jeep SRT8 Rocker Moldings #2012SRT8Rockers-ship and the front and rear bumpers. If you are doing all of that, you might as well get the SRT front and rear bumpers. Probably same cost as the HA ones.

Means no Quadra Drive ll which means no Electronic Ltd Slip Diff in rear which means...different things to different folks. Net net is its a good thing to have for the $795 retail cost on an Overland. Keep in mind tho it is only avail with the Diesel and V8, V6's can't get it.

I am a north easterner so for me it's all about traction in ice and snow from a stop. The ELSD is very beneficial. QTll is no slouch with the Select-train but the ELSD simply adds more traction.

It's also beneficial to the off-roaders but not as much as full locker hubs, etc..

here's more QTll/QDll info...

The HA with 4x4 and HK is only $50,780 MSRP with dest. No one should pay over $48,225 for that since anyone can join Treadlightly for $100 and get 1% below invoice. Depending on location, availability, demand and factory rebates if any.

Re: New: 2015 Grand Cherokee High Altitude Edition

So as I am eventually trying to decide if the HA is something I would like, there is still no doubt its a very slight step down compared to the Summit, so that has me thinking, maybe I will keep my near new Summit, and over time replicate the look by purchasing all the OEM parts.
So this has me thinking, does anyone know how some of the OEM painted body parts come from the factory? Right now I have a non-Platinum Summit, meaning my lower side sills and front and rear lower bumper panels are the painted granite color (not white like the rest of my Jeep). Since it appears these parts come from the factory painted granite as I looked at the labels on the inside of the panels and they said "granite", maybe all the lower panels come factory painted? So if I want the paint matched lower panels I can simply order them in white. I guess if I acquired the VIN off a white platinum Summit (or HA when available), maybe I can contact a dealer parts guys and see what he says comes up in a search and if these panels come unpainted or painted. Does anyone happen to know how these pieces come?

Where do you see that? On the build details all it calls out is Normal Duty Suspension. Doesn't matter which drive system you select (4X2 or 4X4).

It is listed under standard features on the HA model on Jeep's website ImageUploadedByTapatalk1438277995.821713.jpg
