Re: New: 2015 Grand Cherokee High Altitude Edition

I guess I'll chime into this thread too.

If I were in the market for an Overland or a Summit id seriously consider the HA but if I bought it id end up blacking out anything that's black chrome or whatever they want to call that finish. Since id be able to do the same on the other models id need to look closer at the options.

I wasn't nor will I be in the market for anything other than an Altitude or SRT8 model since I think everything in between is a waste of money. In most cases it's the same body and engine with some added fluff to bring the price up. The HEMI doesn't supply enough power over the Pentastar to make it justifiable for me. I'm sure plenty of people out there disagree and can give me countless reasons why acoustic glass and a leather dash are a must have but I'm still happy with my "base model".

Signed,
A Hater with an Altitude.

Re: New: 2015 Grand Cherokee High Altitude Edition

I've been eagerly waiting for pics on the HA myself as I'm in the market, and wanted the trim of the Overland but kind of like the Altitude. One other thing that detracts from the HA for me that hasn't really been brought up is the interior seems a little bit dull. For the price point, you'd think that the seats would have a unique stitched emblem like the others do for the HA. Instead there isn't one at all. Also, the piping/stitching on the seats and dash has no color like the black leather Overland, so it just seems to be lacking character. Probably considered minor to some, but hey this thing is not cheap. When you step into it I want people to know it.

Everyone's opinion is different and I do like the black chrome look, but in the end I think the Overland does it for me more than the HA.

I agree, you would of thought it would have something like red leather stitching just like the new Durango RT.. From the pictures it does look a little bland, but like someone else already stated, its probably better in person

I agree also. After seeing the HA's in person I can say I really like the exterior, but the interiors are a little basic considering how spruced up the exterior is.

Listen, this site was built on guys that took stock jeeps and completely changed them to their liking. Me included. And once this thing gets into the hands of a member on here that doesn't have to worry about the $$ behind the mods, everyone here will be drooling over this thing. The bumper is the closest thing to the SRT and an even closer throwback to the WK1 SRT bumper. No moldings over the fenders, HID lights. Once that black chrome or whatever its called is painted body color, everyone will change their tune. Add some vinyl into the mix on the roof, the grill and the window trim, and you've got a WK1 SRT in new clothes. Just my 2 cents.

Well said and agreed...not a fan of the black chrome either...so gloss black or body color will work...which are both an easy mod...and the pay off is a better looking truck then the hideous summit with basically all the same features at a lower price
