Back then guys painted the trim bodycolor...which is the point alot of us are trying to make that this truck, once someone gets their hands on it can look sick. And....the only reason an altitude even exists is because of this forum...Scott, back me up on that. We were blackin out our trucks back then before any oem model from the factory and all of the hype caused jeep to fill the need with something like the altitude. So everyone thank jeepgarage!! Haha

Agreed and well said!!! finally a voice of reason on this thread

You do realize that alcantara is faux suede? The reason why it's used over suede is because it's more durable.

Alcantara is a tradename given to a composite material used to cover surfaces and forms in a variety of applications. It can be described as an artificial substitute for suede leather.

Yes I do realize that. I also realize the look and feel is closest to real suede with durability and uv resistance that suede doesn't offer. Now what jeep uses is microfiber at best. Like I said nothing close to suede or Alcantara. Alcantara is prob 20x more expensive.

Weird, I'm 29. And a dude.

Since I couldn't swing the insane SRT prices, why not get the next best thing, the Summit that has unique body styling from the rest of the WK2 line and has every feature available. My friend has a Limited and he hates me every time he rides in my Jeep. (he was looking at Altitudes because of the dark trim, but would have hated life with the lack of features it has compared to the higher model lines).

I sat in an altitude once. It doesn't have near the luxury feel as the higher lines, and doesn't scream sport to me either. It just screams "hey, we blacked out all the chrome for you on your laredo, you're welcome".

Alcantara is relatively cheap given that it's faux.
I never thought someone with a 4th gen fbody would be so passionate about the quality of materials in an interior. Go figure?

It has no interior. Nice try though. Btw genuine Alcantara is $115 a yard. Microfiber is $7 a yard. So yeah it is pretty expensive, being "faux" and all. Better let Ferrari know there putting fake suede in there cars.

Actually it has no interior like I said, straight strip car with a TT LSX going in that costs more then your blacked out Laredo. Calm down bro. Tell me more about your center console cup holder mod.

So cool bro. Can I be your friend?

...and it's a coin tray. Worth more than your beat up 4th gen.

Lol. Keep filling it with quarters, then maybe you can get the SRT you lust for. So many butt hurt Laredo owners. WTF.
