I was on the fence before and after this video I'm now convinced. Not a fan of the HA 😕

Same here this video confirmed that for me too. Something about it just looks off.

After seeing the press pictures something does look a little off. The proportions seem off. Probably has to do with the black wheels not filling the wheel well more. Then again it could just be the way it looks in pictures.

I decided against getting one of these. Instead Im going for an SRT.

Re: New: 2015 Grand Cherokee High Altitude Edition

I like it a lot but I too feel that something might be slightly off. For me it's the wheels and the rear bumper. But it's not a big enough deal to keep me from wanting one

Re: New: 2015 Grand Cherokee High Altitude Edition

It's the wheels. Everything else looks good, but they blacked out some old factory wheels and threw them on as an afterthought. The Summit Platinum has everything satin silver that the Summit has chrome, including the wheels. The HA did everything dark chrome except the wheels and rear bumper step, where they just went gloss black. Makes no sense.

Buy the HA edition and throw on the black chrome SRT wheels and you have a badass truck. I've decided Chrome SRT Goliaths would match my Summit perfectly since the spider monkeys would be black chrome unmatched to all my current chrome.

Re: New: 2015 Grand Cherokee High Altitude Edition

I just don't like the front fascia. It's way too shiny...it might as well be chrome. It would look much better if it was blacked out in the same way the regular Altitude is blacked out IMHO.

I understand what they were going for- a pricier/blingy look in-line with GMC's Denali but I think they fell short. Hey, it's subjective...obviously plenty of people disagree with me. Bottom line seems to be people who like the Altitude aren't really fond of the HA and vice-versa. They appeal to different kinds of people. The Altitude is more sporty while the HA is more glitzy.

Re: New: 2015 Grand Cherokee High Altitude Edition

In person, the black chrome is barely noticeable imho. At first, I thought the varying degrees of black, chrome, and black chrome would not look great, but after seeing the vehicle in person I think it comes together nicely.

Honestly, I must have had five drivers of Altitudes giving me the thumbs up thinking I'm in an regular Altitude this week. I highly doubt they noticed the subtle differences between the two trims.

Each to their own. My guess is Jeep didn't want to make an SRT with no nuts so to speak so this was the best way to give buyers of the Summit/Overland something less chromed out.

For me, I find the black gives the truck a little more rugged look. Personally, I don't expect a Jeep to be chromed out in luxury. If I wanted that I'd buy a luxury brand. However, I don't necessarily want to give up some of the luxury features of the car but maintain a sportier / rugged look. This is what the high altitude accomplishes imho.

Re: New: 2015 Grand Cherokee High Altitude Edition

I highly doubt FCA was thinking "hey we need something that will compete with a Yukon Denali, Ok let's make a High Altitude." No that makes no sense.

Re: New: 2015 Grand Cherokee High Altitude Edition

Because of the interior colors, black stitching, silver parts, the body color mirrors and handles and the SRT headlamps and taillamps, I'm going to get a brilliant black HA and have it converted to an Altitude with black tow hooks of course, and add a Blackhawk emblem and a Hemi emblem to the back of it. I sent an e-mail to Just for Jeeps asking for a price for the parts including a European front bumper with the park sensors in it. I'm also planning to get Chrome 2012 style Overland wheels for it.

Re: New: 2015 Grand Cherokee High Altitude Edition

I haven't seen one in person yet so it's entirely possible I'll feel differently when I do. I think we're all over analyzing anyway, lol
