Re: New: 2015 Grand Cherokee High Altitude Edition

I have no complaints on my QL... it rides a lot nicer than all of my other Jeeps.

Theres a difference between trolling and being right... :roll eyes:

I don't tow and I have no need for a fast SUV. I have a car for that. I have a lifetime warranty... I'm not worried about reliability. I'm merely talking about comfort and handling characteristics of the air ride as well as the ability to permanently customize ride height without compromise. Simply put, you sound like you don't have much experience with other air ride systems or suspensions in general. You wouldn't be praising QL if you did.

I haven't ever praised the QL, to start with. I have experience with an air suspension in a Q7, Model S and S8.

You don't need a fast suv? Lol ok then. If you think the EcoDiesel is fast, I'll take your word. Hah and the Hemi, it's not necessarily 'fast'

Re: New: 2015 Grand Cherokee High Altitude Edition

The ride quality and comfort of QL vs traditional is purely a subjective opinion based on personal preferences. Disparaging remarks don't change that in any way. Neither do "bad words". Some of us like QL and some of us don't like QL. It's nice to have choices.

So let's move along now and concentrate on discussing things that are unique to the High Altitude. Please.

To be honest I don't even like altitudes. High or not I just drive one as my daily... You guys really get your panties in a bunch when someone makes valid points. How any of you are not surprized that someone who picked up a brand new HA with QL had an issue with his suspension day one is beyond me. Clearly there is enough information out there showing that QL has its fair share of issues and errors. Its just part of the added complexity of the system on top of FCA's poor testing/R&D/QA that we all know and love. Part of the value built into the cars thats all I'm getting at. I apologize if my opinion offended anyone.

Skunkd... your opinions don't offend anyone, just the manner in which they're delivered. Work on that a little and you'll be fine.

Re: New: 2015 Grand Cherokee High Altitude Edition

I've had 2 QL jeeps now. no issues. I think it is solid on the highway. especially when it lowers down. I drove my friends 2013 Laredo a few weeks back. It feels more bouncy on the highway to me.

Coming from a 2014 4Runner, no WK2 setup could ride as bad as that 4Runner! I loved the vehicle, but my wife HATED the ride quality and ride height.

I don't really have anything to make a meaningful comparison to, but I took my first long-ish road trip, about 140 miles round trip and it was a comfortable ride. Didn't feel any bouncing really in Aero. Tires are set to about 38 psi cold on the 20" wheels.

That is funny.

The suspension on my 2015 WK2 Overland is FAR BETTER then what my 2005 Toyota 4Runner had. And the 4Runner had the X-REAS Sport Suspension system.

So while the QL system may not be for everyone, I've found it to be a very good system with a great ride (for an SUV that is capable of both On Road along with Off Road use). That is probably why the other top SUVs that excel at both On Road and Off Road performance both use Air Suspension systems (Range Rover Sport and Porsche Cayenne).
