New 2016 Limited

Have a deposit on a 2015 at a local dealer - waiting on the recall to be sorted. Got a great deal on a 2016 at Koons while I was in DC on business. Picked it up Friday night and drove it home. All I can say is WOW. I've been a Mopar guy for years, but this is my first Jeep. I see why people love them. My trip from DC to RI gave me 25-26 MPG with nearly 2 hours spent in horrendous DC rush-hour traffic, the rest 65-70 MPH. This weekend I've been running errands locally and getting 19-20 MPG. Not bad for a 4500-pound truck, and I expect it will get better once the engine is broken in a bit. My car doesn't have a ton of extras (Limited with sunroof and 8.4 nav), but it has enough comfort and convenience features for me. Comfortable, solid, roomy, and genuinely fun to drive. I was worried about the stop-start, but it seems to be mostly unobtrusive. Even the base sound system is decent (though I may upgrade speakers). All in all, I am very impressed with the vehicle and happy with my purchase. Thanks to the forum for steering me to Koons. I highly recommend them based on my experience. The Jeep even fits in my garage . . . barely

Re: New 2016 Limited

Thanks! It's been a very long time since I've been excited by a new car. This one does it. It seems to be a perfect fit for my needs, and it's a joy to drive. Thus far, colour me impressed

Re: New 2016 Limited

I've had it almost a week and I have to admit, I'm smitten. It's comfortable and fun to drive, and it's even getting better gas mileage than I expected. I installed a MOPAR chrome air deflector on the hood the other day and I have the front and rear mudflaps - I need to find an afternoon to install them. Great car all around.

Re: New 2016 Limited

Congratulations! Now time to add Weathertechs, especially given the weather you guys get.

Re: New 2016 Limited

Weathertechs are on their way. I went with a Jeep OEM cargo mat, though. The Weathertech had a lip at the front where it met the seatback. That meant when I folded the seats there would be something in the way of sliding cargo. I found an OEM Jeep mat on eBay. That should take are of the cargo area.

Re: New 2016 Limited

I have the OEM Jeep mat and I think it does an excellent job. The grip on it is absolutely insane. I haul around a decent sized piece of equipment for work and it doesnt slide at all.

Re: New 2016 Limited

Yea, I went with the OEM Jeep mat recently in the cargo area...and your are correct, Protect'...no-slippy for sure! (I don't use "hard" mats like Weathertech in my passenger compartments...I prefer the carpet mats for both comfort and noise control. My Summit came with nice mats)
