New 2016 Summit Owner

Just picked up a 2016 Summit a couple of weeks ago.

I could not be happier!! I had a 1989 base XJ Cherokee for 28 years that I sold last spring. This vehicle is another world in comparison.

I got the Black Pearlcoat, with the dark brown interior, I was originally going to get the Dark Sienna Brown/Black, which is lovely, and had all but dismissed the dark brown from photos I had seen.

Then on a visit to the dealer I happened on the dark brown interior and I was sold. I have not seen a photo of the dark brown that does it justice. The copper contrast stitching and bronze trim just does not convey well in low resolution internet photos.

Glad to be a member here.

Re: New 2016 Summit Owner

So, you think they made some improvements in just 28 years?

Congratulations on the new Summit, and welcome to The Jeep Garage!

Another world? More like another galaxy.

Congrats.

Re: New 2016 Summit Owner

NICE! I had a 98 xj before my 16 GC. It is amazing how much the jeep brand has evolved while still maintaining the unique jeep appearance/performance.

pics please

Welcome. XJ's are still one of my favorite Jeeps. I still look for a clean low mileage one every week to build as a toy. Been looking for 3 years and have passed on some perfect ones that I regret now.

Re: New 2016 Summit Owner

WOW, a '98 XJ to a '16 Summit. I can only imagine you are blown away at the quality and advancements that have come in the auto industry. I just bought a '99 C5 vette as a fun car and it's pretty crazy going between that and my '15 HA.

Re: New 2016 Summit Owner

I know how you feel. I traded in a 1991 Mustang LX on my 2015 Limited. I'm still driving my 1991 F-150. The difference is night and day.
