Yes, lots of Australia bound vehicles on Milous's tracking site.

I ponied up as well. Considering the amount I wound up saving on a new Jeep (just through talking with members) I consider it well worth the money.

Is it common to be stuck in the "Production Schueduled" category for almost a month? My order was placed on 8/28 and it went into production scheduled on 8/29. I've called jeep twice and they always tell me everything is in order and it should be build any day. Is this normal?

Not at all unusual. I'd say 6-8 weeks is the norm.

6-8 weeks before the build of the car is even started?? My dealer mentioned 4-6 weeks before delivery from time of order.

4-6 weeks from order is highly unlikely. I laughed at my dealer when he said 6-8 weeks.

I'm at 3 weeks since order so far. I don't expect the vehicle until November...

A Lamborghini Aventador takes about 3 hours to build. How long were you thinking it will take them to build your Grand Cherokee? Your wait is due to high demand and has nothing to do with the time it takes to produce the car.

They're only building about 50 of those Lamborghini rides a year, there's a big difference between that and a mass produced vehicle.

Well, 500 a year but the point is the same and I think you missed it. My point is that they start and finish the build of the car on the same day and the process of building the car takes a matter of minutes. The entire wait is due to high demand (pre-production) followed by transportation time (port-production).

I will add that I ordered mine on Labor Day and it is slated to go into production on 9/30. If you ordered a few days before that, your car should be built by the end of this week.

Re: NEW Build status tracking By Milous for site supporters

I ordered 8/5 went into D1 on 8/23 it was built on 9/19 so it should move soon. Mine is on the train and i'm going nuts so It would be silly for me to say be patient it will come.

I think you missed the point there's a lot involved in mass producing 100,000 cars as opposed to 500 a year which is alot easier to do. While no one wants to wait for their vehicle and we all want them yesterday it is something that has to be factored into the equation, It's like standing on the bus stop and you keep stepping out to look down the street every 3 minutes to see if it's showing up,doing that doesn't it make it come any faster so sometimes patience is necessary.

Re: NEW Build status tracking By Milous for site supporters

Date ordered: 2/23
D1 status: 3/28
Build date: 4/6
Staged for shipment: 4/7
Departed Facility: 4/10
Arrived at dealer: 4/13
Took delivery: 4/13

That's the way it worked for me.
If you search the forum, you can find a lot of info on how the whole thing comes together. It's a complicated process. Tens of thousands of these vehicles have come off the line so far this year. And the JGC isn't the only vehicle coming off this assembly line. It's a state of the art facility, and the folks organizing the process and assembling our Jeeps at JNAP are doing one hell of a fine job.
