Re: New Car Smell!!

Ok I have a 2015 Overland and the buttons behind the steering wheel for volume and channel clicks loud. Are all the newer builds like this?

I have an early 2014 (march 2013) and mine click also, i thought it was weird at first and i didnt like it but i guess i got used to it. They may have wanted to give a firmer press than the forward facing ones to avoid them being pressed accidently. Still a firmer press doesnt need to click like that. My left one doest work very well either may have it lokked at before the 3/36, or not they may do more damage than its worth lol

Interesting about the click of the controls being changed.. I think they were changed?

I just know my 2014 click sounded like the blinker lol

Re: New Car Smell!!

Congrats on the trade!

I just got a 2014 SRT and the back buttons click somewhat loudly. I don't mind.

Doesn't seem to matter if AC is on or not.
I am getting 22+ all around with the hemi for the first 3400 miles.

v6 must get 25sh all around

Re: New Car Smell!!

Congrats on your new 2015! I only average between 16 and 18 mpg on daily commutes. (lead foot) But get around 23-25 on long trips.

Re: New Car Smell!!

I have around 13k on my V6 Grand Cherokee Limited '14. Last week I drove from CA to OR and that was the first time I drove that long (460mi) on a highway one way. I normally get over 25 mpg when I drive for a few hours on a highway sticking around 70 mph. This time I drove 75 mph in CA (70 is the speed limit on I-5) and then slowed down to 60 mpg once I hit Oregon (speed limit is 55 mph). Slowing down definitely helped the mpg and according to EVIC my rolling average went up to 30 mpg but I hit the hills and it brought it down to 27.5 mpg. Ended up with over quarter tank left once I reached my destination. Not sure if EVIC is accurate but it was nice to see that it can go over the EPA numbers

New Car Smell!!

Just thought I'd update this since I've had it a few days.

I have about 600 miles on it now. Really enjoying it. Not missing the Hemi too much. Not yet anyways.

I'm having three issues though. The transmission isn't nearly as refined as it is with the Hemi. Really disappointing.

Second issue is: upon aggressive acceleration, shifting 1-2 and 2-3 it makes a noise. Not good.

Third issue: the steering wheel is not straight at all. It's pretty far to the right lol

wait this is a 6/15 build and the steering wheels are still coming out of there crooked to the right lol you have to be kidding me. my 6/13 build was the same as many peoples have been. take it back the dealers should be pros at correcting the steering wheel to the right after that being noted on the early 14s over 2 years ago.

v6 transmissions still not shifting right on a 6/15 build that is not encouraging. might wait that out and get a few more miles on it before declaring it a dud but that does not sound good. although if it is making weird noise probably best to get it back in.

Re: New Car Smell!!

^^Pretty much my thoughts exactly, silvermax. It's lame but overall no big deal really. Other than the sound it makes shifting. That sucks.

What kind of sounds? Like grinding or slaming? When shifting
