Re: New Chevy Trailblazer- a true Jeep competitor?

Its different alright and I wont lie, I kinda digg it! Not that I would give up my jeep or even consider buying one, but I think it pretty cool looking. My pop had an old trailblazer and it was worthless, cheapy plastic and no way to customize. Ha, goodtimes!

That looks like an equinox on steroids.

Re: New Chevy Trailblazer- a true Jeep competitor?

I would like to see it with the GMC Denali treatment. I definitely see the resemblence to the Mercedes ML and also the Equinox. The interior looks kind of cheap though.

Chrysler has had quality problems? Must have missed them.

If you mean by old something like, say, three years?. The cheby my daughter drives is now notorious for eating timing belts at 50,000 mile, just 10,000 miles short of the recommended change interval. GM makes some nice proven vehicles, but never take a chance on a new model... that company just doesn't care enough IMHO.

Hopefully you're kidding.

Actually, yeah. GM, Chrysler, and Ford are in the middle of a renaissance, coming from building low quality, poorly built, unreliable cars to building high quality, attractive cars that people...actually want to buy. Look at where Chrysler was 3 years ago. There was nothing Chrysler, GM or Ford made I would even consider buying. Now, there are models from all 3 I would buy.

I would go so far as to say your daughter's experience with her 3 year old Chevy is totally irrelevant...it was a completely different company then.

Neither did Crysler a couple years ago. Things change.

This is a glorified minivan similar to the traverse!

This actually looks pretty good- especially if they bring the diesel also. Any chance the diesel is the same VM Motori used in the JGC? Given the fact that GM and Chrysler shared 50/50 in it...
This thing will be Durango/Explorer competition.

+1.

They lost their Durango/Explorer competition when they replaced the Trailblazer with the minivan-ized Traverse.

This is an attempt to directly compete again.

No V8.

The Jeep is the last mid-sized SUV that has good ol' MER-KAN v8 under the hood. Shame.

Re: New Chevy Trailblazer- a true Jeep competitor?

This morning Motor Trend is saying the vehicle probably won't make it to the US because it will steal sales from the Equinox and Traverse.
