Other than that the jeep is great. I made the mistake of letting my wife drive it and now she wants it.
There are various setting - at least on my nav - to avoid tolls, avoid traffic, etc. If you want the shortest distance, there is a setting for that...and make sure the live traffic thing is turned off....the live traffic thing will have you going crazy routes as it consider even minor, but officially reported, construction as something to be avoided even if no delays.

no its not that bad it is a little quirky some times but it is fine for the most part, new maps due out this summer so that should help. just get it it will be fine you will likely end up with a mess on your hands if you try to retrofit later

Thanks, I have to check that about the live traffic. I've tried all the other avoidance combination on/off.

I don't even see anything with live traffic in NAV. Live traffice in Sirius yes, but that's not connected to NAV routing right?

Yes it is. I had some routing problems early on till I realized that "shortest route" will take you on all kinds of backwater roads. Since I've been using "fastest route" it's been fine. Google Maps is probably better, but the OEM nav is just plain nice to use.

I must be losing it, cause I don't even see an option for things like "fastest route". I'm assuming you go into NAV/Settings/Guidance, but there is no option for that.

Yes, the live traffic update stuff is via Sirius --- which after the first year you would have to pay for to extend. The live traffic update is hit or miss, has been helpful a few times but more often than not it is darn annoying "recalculating due to traffic information" repeatedly. Garbage data in probably doesn't help. Only ONCE can I think of that it was accurate and would have been helpful --- on the turnpike where it suddenly said to take a weird exit which I ignored....and within 2 minutes ended up waiting 45 minutes for an accident to clear. Other than that one time in 3 years, it has mostly frustrated me so I don't use live traffic updates anymore......

Naw, just keep the factory nav, and pick up an aftermarket one [rotsa ruck figuring out where to mount it], and you can get twice as lost.

I do sorta wish Google Maps were available for QNX/Uconnect, with the ability to update directly from Google.

Yeah, as much as I've loved my three GCs, the 2011 model had this ancient screen with horrible resolution and the garmin was from the land of the dinosaurs. The one in my 2014 is a lot 'prettier', but my Google Maps app on my iphone puts it to shame. I hate that you have to type in city, street name, number, blah, blah instead of just writing it out like google maps. Can't wait to the iphone get's a bigger screen it's hard to see those landmarks on my 4" screen.

You're typing it in??? I just press the uconnect button and say navigate to 1234 56th street north Tampa Florida and let it fly. So far, it's nailed it every time :-)

I would say I'm 50/50 whether it gets the address from my spoken voice. Must be heavy human accent.
