New Flash 845RE Transmission Quick Learn

Looks like there is a new flash out for quick learning on the v6 8spd. Hopefully that will help some of the v6 folks who are having a lot of issues with the v6 trans shifting

Just had that performed last week. Took care of the 2-3 upshift but did nothing for the 2-1 downshift.

Hmmm... I see that now. I can't say with any certainty. All my work order states is that they performed an "adaptive relearn."

This one says something about loading software into the TCM to enable a quick learn procedure for the 845RE. I lost track of the number of software loads on the v6 trans so who knows but hopefully that will help some of the folks that still have v6 trans issues a year later.

Re: New Flash 845RE Transmission Quick Learn

It would seem to me that if a person has had several flashes or relearns done and it hasn't corrected the harsh shifting then the valve body becomes the main suspect. Of those who've reported having the valve body replaced they seem to feel that it finally cured the problem.

But that takes getting a STAR case started first, doesn't it?

I'll ask the dealer about this when I report that I'm still experiencing the harsh downshift. I need to find out which procedure they actually tried.

I think you are right Chrysler needs to approve the Valve body replacement I think not just the dealer. my trans on the v8 has been good so far ive been in a number of times for other various things but fortunately software took care of most of them. I would think the 2015s should generally be pretty good seeing as we 2014 owners shook out many software bugs for them

Yeah, I remember how butter smooth the shifting was when I first got it. If it wasn't for the gear position indicator in the display I'd never know it was shifting. It would be nice to get it back that way.

Mine's a 4/13 build. It was doing just fine up until about 3 months ago... then bam, here comes the harsh shifts out of nowhere.

I know it didn't "learn" that from me.

Same here, but my rough downshifts into 1st gear crawling to a stop started all of a sudden at about 5,000 miles on my 12/13 build 2014 Overland V6 4x4.

My case has just recently been escalated to case management for further review...
