New guy from So Cal

Just thought I would introduce myself as I'm currently in the market for a new JGC. This would be my first Jeep and as I'm looking to replace my wife's 2011 BMW 3 series. She loves her car, but with a one year old son we are looking to get something a bit more family friendly and a bit cheaper than her BMW. I drive a 2012 TDI Diesel Jetta Sportwagen and love it. She would likely drive my car day to day and I would drive the JGC. I surf basically everyday and we planned on swapping cars since the wagon is very kid friendly, but the back seats don't fold down on her car so I'm really unable to drive her car. A little bit about myself, I love to surf, skate, snowboard and travel down to Baja on surf trips quite frequently as my family has a place down there. I was introduced to the Jeep when my really good friend was in the market for one. Since we are trying to get a lower payment than we have now with her BMW, I will likely just be looking at a Laredo with 4x4. I thought about waiting for the 2014 since there is really no rush to get a car since my wife still has 9 months or so in her lease, but I'm hopeful that we can get a decent trade in on it as the payoff is fairly low. The diesel engine sounds great, but will likely be out of my price range since I'm still looking to keep the payment down. I'm very pleased with the deals that people seem to be getting on their JGC's, coming from Audi's and Toyota's it was a bit tough on negotiations.

The cars I have previously owned:

99.5 Audi A4
2001 Audi A4
2005 Tundra
2007 Tacoma
2007 FJ Cruiser
2006 Audi A4 Wagon

I look forward to learning more about Jeeps and hope to be in one soon

You'll love the Jeep and this website. I learn something new everytime I am on this site. (Which is frequently).
