Re: New Jeep Package "Altitude"

Too much black on the whells for me, maybe a small ring or chrome around the rim itself. Would like a p/n of the back grille, got to be easier to prepare/paint body color than a chrome one.

Re: New Jeep Package "Altitude"

So will Jeep send me some Altitude parts for coming up with the whole idea?

Sure, as soon as you send them some cash!

That's what I'm beginning to think, but Milous said he would check with Sergio (head of Fiat/Chrysler) if they would consider a payment for the idea...

I mean, they gave away a whole new Grand Cherokee Altitude for the name that was picked. I'd say the idea is much better than the name.

Re: New Jeep Package "Altitude"

Man $500 for a painted grill is a lot of money! What a rip off... I rather have it painted at a body shop.

Your right, considering it pops off with a little careful tugging - no bumper removal. Then drop it off at a body shop for about a $80 paint job.

Same goes for the license plate brow.

I did this to mine. I could have them painted five times and still have saved money over new ones.

Headlights are another story, I really want to get my hands on those.

You got it out without removing the bumper? Care to explain? What about the rear tailgate brow?

The grille comes off by pulling carefully? No need to remove the Pumper?

When you pop the hood, you'll notice its attached by clips/tabs. These clips are along the top and bottom. They come out with some force, but handle it delicately so that you don't break the tabs. Its pretty tough but if your careful enough you can pull it off. The grill is flexible but it does indeed pop off, I did it. I haven't put it back on the Jeep because i'm waiting the 30+ days for paint to cure so I can cover it with clear bra.
*note: this is for the chrome grille only. If your installing the mesh grille behind the chrome outer part, then you have to remove the bumper.*

As for the back brow, its attached by clips (top n bottom) along with some double sided tape. This is much easier to take off. Again, take your time and be careful. I removed the double sided tape from the brow and the lift gate. Then I cleaned it and put new double sided tape and popped it back on. I did this about 5-6 months ago and still looks brand new.

Dealer cost on that painted grill is $299.00 for those of you who that can get a discount off MSRP!

Re: New Jeep Package "Altitude"

Dealers should be able to tell anyone thats interested if they have any of these on order and what the status is.
