New JGC What are your favorite features?

Hi All,

Picked up my new Overland last night and I'm enjoying playing around with the settings and all the tech it has to offer. For those of you with more experience with your Jeep than me, what are some of your favorite features? Tech settings/creature comforts/hidden little gems you've discovered/etc?

Thanks!

Re: New JGC What are your favorite features?

Without a doubt, the #1 feature is the adaptive cruise control. Not sure how we lived without it prior but any new vehicle that we purchase in the future must have it. Hello '14 KL - hopefully placing the order in the next couple of days.

Other than that, the vented seats, then the power liftgate, then the VR audio functionality.

Oh and also the fuel economy of the CRD. Amazing. I'm comparing it to our 5.7 Hemi who I describe as a high-functioning alcoholic. Likes a bit of a drink in otherwords.

Our Overland is the Aust spec'ed one and her build date is April '13 so an early build. Nary a problem.

This might sound really stupid... But my favorite feature is when you push start, and the seat and steering-wheel move you into position.

Makes me feel like my car comes alive and is moving me into battle mode!

Re: New JGC What are your favorite features?

Also want to add a couple other favorite features

1) Voice recognition navigation: I was blown away by the nav's ability to recognize what address I am saying. Even with complicated addresses, it has always pulled up the correct address and directions. Too easy

2) Auto on comfort: I forgot what it was like to get into a freezing vehicle that doesnt warm up for a while.

3 The daytime running lights: Jeep hit the nail on the head with the design. In the past year i've been seeing a lot of new cars with daytime running lights but almost all of them just don't look sexy at all. The design on the GC looks mean and sexy.

Re: New JGC What are your favorite features?

One of my favorite features is the ability to change from ECO (D) drive to SPORT mode. I do a lot of highway driving and the traffic can become pretty cramped when heading on the highway or passing a slow moving vehicle. A quick tug on the shifter and I'm passing, merging, or getting around cramped traffic. Then a slight tug to go back into ECO for cruising.

Besides all the other stuff I can list, this is my favorite feature for me.

I love the NAV, it takes me down all these streets that I have no desire to be on no matter what setting it's in. I never know where it's going to take me. Well at least I'm in a Jeep and up for the adventure.

Agree the NAV does have some unrefined logic that needs a lot of work. It will run you an hour out of your way to avoid a five minute yellow delay spot on your route. My 8 year old garmin has traffic avodance that is sensible and works very well so this is not some new path finder technology. Dealt with the wasted time again on my trip this week. The traffic avoidance feature on this unit has proven several times to be unreliable and im turning it off. I like my jeep a lot but it often feels like a 90% complete science project.
