Re: New Member & A Question -- Saddle Interior

classy....without the saddle dash and saddle on the upper part the doors the interior looks like a after thought. Saddle(summit) all the way. The two thing i get the most compliments on are the grill and the saddle dash. Leather is not industrutable and you need to be carful with how you enter your vehicle.

Re: New Member & A Question -- Saddle Interior

My JGC is an Overland Brilliant Black with Saddle/Black interior. I've had cars that had black interiors on black exteriors and beige interiors on black exterior and black interior on white exterior. I went with the Saddle/Black interior because I've always loved the reddish/tan tone of the Saddle in the JGC. It also has the most sophisticated look matched with the black interior. For me, first and foremost I'm interested in the look more than the engine and so on.

I owned a BMW X5 7 years ago and comparing it to my current 2011 JGC, the BMW would run laps around my JGC. Having said that I thought the X5 was a waste of money and BMW has terrible customer service. I still think the X5 today is one of the sexiest SUVs in the market bar none. Until, the Jeep came out their 2011 JGC. Inasmuch as I think the X5 is slightly sexier, I'm so sick of driving BMW/Audi with it's too refined look. I wanted sexy and rugged and hence my current love affair with my JGC.

BTW, Black and black is so 1990s.

I completely disagree, the standard saddle/black interior with the Overland looks great. The seats are saddle/black piping, the doors are black/saddle inserts, the dash is black/with saddle stitching (a nice touch that ties the rest of the interior in).

Because the tops of the doors aren't saddle and the entire dash isn't saddle, it looks like an after thought? Sorry, I don't see it that way.

Re: New Member & A Question -- Saddle Interior

I have a black summit and the saddle dash makes the car looks very sophisticated. I love it, but you really can't go wrong with either choice.

Re: New Member & A Question -- Saddle Interior

No offense to people who got the saddle, just my opinion: I was sold on the saddle interior until I saw it in person, looks like just a surface color rather than deep in the leather, I ended up getting black and like it a lot.

That is part of my concern. In person, the saddle does look a bit thin and the polish appears to have been smeared on with a paper towel.

Is this just me or just a few bad batches that I have seen?

I dunno, all four of my 20 and 30 year old daughters and many of their friends think the saddle is a grandpa car color... perhaps a sophisticated, maybe classy grandpa, but old school none the less... not all that appealing... perhaps its just a female POV? Anyway you can't go wrong with either and if the extra cost saddle turns you on as something different, go for it.

I know this is personal preference, however, how does the new saddle look in the flesh compared to the black interior?
(If I go with new saddle / black dash, I will have to get one brought in as all the dealer has are Summit Overlands and I prefer the black dash).

Thank you.
