Hello all!

I'm Andrew from Morris county New Jersey. I have been lurking around here since August when I picked up my truck. I have a '14 JGC Overland, Black on Black with the 5.7 Hemi. My first jeep and i LOVE it! I think it is one of the best looking trucks on the roads now and by far best bang for the buck.

So far I have only done minor mods but have more planned for the future. I tinted the windows: Fronts at 20% and my windshield is 35%. I hardwired my radar detector in, put some weathertech floor mats in and removed the "Grand Cherokee" and "4x4" badges off. Im debating removing the Jeep off the front, but not convinced yet.

Next, I'll be ordering some 3M Glass black Vinyl and will be wrapping all of the chrome. (Window trim, front grill inserts, Fog bezels, rear bumper chrome step surround, tail light chrome etc. Might toy with wrapping the chrome mirror caps, too.

I really want to lower the truck so it drives normally at the entry level ride height, but have been unable to find an easy option for that. I emailed accuair and will be waiting to hear from them.

Eventually I will be doing exhaust, intake, tune as well.

I own my company called Autoluxe Motor Spa and do high end detailing and paint corrections, so any detailing questions I would be more than happy to answer. I have 22PLE on my truck and it makes the finish insane! I'll post some pics as soon as I figure out how to. Looking forward to being apart of this site!

Best wishes,

Andrew

Greetings! Just picked up my first Jeep this week. Got a 2011 GC Laredo x. Black on black. I have been driving F150s for the last ten years and have always wanted a jeep. Didn't think it would be a Grand Cherokee though. Saw this one at the local dealership where a friend is a salesman and once I drove it I was sold. I have never left any vehicle I have owned stock and this one will be no different. I was a mechanic in the Marine Corp and have been wrenching since I rode bicycles.

I am an active member on f150 forums(well was I guess) and I also buy/sell and collect putters. I look forward to gaining knowledge on my new toy and if I can be any help on anything, other than low interest loans let me know. If your are close to IL and need a 4th I don't mind teeing it up with good people.

Welcome! Can't wait to see some pics! Include the floor mats too if you don't mind.

Thanks! No problem I'll definitely throw those in! I love them they were the greatest thing during the winter. Well worth the $300. Makes clean up so easy. I'll figure out how to post pictures today and throw some up!

Thanks, the 22PLE is amazing stuff I swear by it. Its really not that bad, and when I open the pano roof blind it brightens up right away. I've been pulled over once so far and it wasn't for the tint, it was for not displaying my inspection sticker.

Nice ride...congrats!!! Here's a quote from another thread where a fuse is removed to achieve this...it's gonna be a rough ride, though:

Thanks for the kind words! I'll have to try that and see how it is in a quick trip to town. Still waiting to hear back from Accuair to see if they have a solution.

For the QL jeeps, just pull the M2 fuse and you can drive in park mode regardless of speed. Ride is the same, looks 1000% better.

Truck looks great and welcome! Also a NJ resident (former at least) with roots in essex county.

As a side note, i'd be interested to know if you're able to do the window trim yourself or you will outsource it. Either way, I am interested in doing that myself, so any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks for the welcome! Gotta love Jersey! I plan on doing it myself its not that hard. When I do it, which probably won't be for another month or so, I'll take step by step pics. I'll be doing gloss black. I was thinking about doing the 3M metallic black, but doubt the metallic will match the crazy metallic of the factory paint.
