In the updated photos available of the updated Charger, they show a new touch screen navigation radio system.

They need to work on getting this into the Grand Cherokee ASAP, along with the newer transmissions.

Looks like it will have climate controls available from the touch screen like the new Fords. Hopefully, this will be a software upgrade for the 430N (GUI, I doubt if the HVAC controls are upgradeable).

I agree soft buttons suck for basic controls. That is why in my opinion the new Ford Explorer is a BIG FAIL. It has way to much going on inside for people to pay attention to driving. I see a lot of those new safety features being used.

"The all-new Uconnect Touch illustrates tangible results from the company’s extensive research and development. During the development of the all-new Uconnect Touch, Chrysler Group engineers visited, observed and recorded more than 4,100 owners of the best E-segment vehicles from Europe, Asia and North America to see how they interacted with their in-vehicle audio and navigation systems, as well as find out what they really want and need from a multimedia and infotainment system. The result: four high-quality next-generation infotainment models that are easy to use and simplify how passengers interact with different radio, media, climate control and navigation technologies."

Varying is correct; this new nav unit will not be in the wk2 until the midlife refresh, 2012-13 model year, per Milous. There is a posting somewhere on this board about it.

The New GC's current navigation area can definitely hold a larger unit. There is a spacer right now that separates the climate control from the Nav and I'm pretty confident that they will remove that spacer and fill it in with a larger nav unit in later years. Mark my words...

The new charger Nav looks too square. I don't like it. I hope they have something better for the later releases of the GC. In the mean time I love my 730N in my '11 Overland

Looks neat, but I can't think of a worse idea than requiring the driver to use a multifunction display for basic climate control tasks. I *don't* want to have to flip through a few different pages to turn on my seat heater and then get back to the audio or nav screen. I'm not even that thrilled with the nav and stereo sharing the same screen and controls.

It looks like they still have hardware climate controls...looks like there will be an option to have both. I don't mind the integration but it's a bad idea to get rid of hardware controls. I agree that menus for basic functions suck. I hate having to diving into the menu just to adjust the bass/treble controls...no need to be doing all that for temp too.

I saw the screen before.. it's huge.

And since the photo was taken on hwy 1, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same one.. oh and the speed limit on hwy 1 is NOT 30mph
