Your right guys, my WJ V8 would run circiles arount my WK2 hemi. At times I get on it and it goes nowhere until a few seconds elapse. To me this is unacceptable in a modern vehicle. Hopefully the TSB fix will make it do what is expected.

How does Quadra Drive II differ from Quadra Trac II in performance, handling/turning, and slip on light snow, deep snow, and ice, when in high (not low) and at both low and higher speeds.

+1
I am thinking of replacing my WJ with a WK2 in the next 12 months. So far I've driven 2 HEMI's and have been underwhelmed (posted about it last winter and it generated a lot of hilarious comments BTW...)
Still hoping for the diesel option to be here for onset of 2013 model year as I want to replace the WJ with someting that gets closer to 30MPG on highway. The new X3 is growing on me.

Re: New questions for the 2011-12 Jeep engineers

I just had the trans/performance flash done on my WK2 5.7L and it does make a noticable difference. Though, I still think the Hemi should put out a little more power. Maybe its just due to the fact that it is a very heavy vehicle.

Still with you though...a little more timing would be a good thing...

Thank's for the tip, I tried tow/haul this morning and it actually felt awake, worth the hit in gas mileage if any.

Why don't they change the name to "tow/haul ass" mode?

Re: New questions for the 2011-12 Jeep engineers

My question for the engineers is this: In regards to the 'steering wheel thud' problem that some people were experiencing, here is a quote from another thread:

"A new tsb came out today for those with the thud or bump in the steering wheel. It requires replacing the intermediate shaft. I already had mine replaced a couple weeks ago and it took care of the problem"

Will this replacement shaft be standard kit in the 2012 model, or will the old one be used again and replaced only if the owner experiences the problem?

Re: New questions for the 2011-12 Jeep engineers

1- Why can't you disable ESP/ESC completely? And don't tell me it is fine as it is. I do loads of sand driving and it is very frustrating when it limits the revs. WK performance in soft loose sand IS better than WK2.

2-Drive train "clunk" when shifting from D to N? It does not do this in SNOW mode, so there must be a fix.

3-Suspension noise (clunk) in ORI and ORII? Bad enough that I don't want to drive off-road in anything but AUTO. Noise is from all four corners. Sounds almost like bump stops. It gets worse the higher the suspension setting. I don't think it is related to TSB 17-002-11 as it only takes a very small (less than 1") bump to get the noise. Even at low speed.

Re: New questions for the 2011-12 Jeep engineers

I would like to know why they state On/Off road tires and than put Michelin Latitude tour tires that are not rated as On/Off road tires, they are street highway tires and some of us paid good money for our SUV. I have already filed 3 complaints and was told nothing they can do. I lease so in a few years I have options for my next SUV from other manufacturers.
