New ride and new to forum

Howdy folks. Just traded in my 2015 Silverado LT Plus for a 2016 GC Overland High Altitude package V6 rig....and haven't looked back. Looking forward to wheel spacer and other odds and ends. Owned many cars and mostly BMWs. I miss doing the individual mods and personalizing a ride. One as capable and fun as jeep should be a blast. Be safe and look forward to input from many of you veteran Jeep owners.

Welcome to the jeep family!

What made you switch from a pick up to the jeep?

Re: New ride and new to forum

Two dogs and only haul my boat twice a year. Couldn't justify gas for pick up when only thing that went in tear was recycling for 80% of the time. SUV suited my needs more right now. If I miss pick up too much I'll give jeep to wife and trade her 200s awd in for a pick up in a year.

Agree...was thinking about Tahoe but considering how technologically advanced the 4x4 system in jeep is, I just couldn't justify 15 more K

Re: New ride and new to forum

Yeah those LTZs are super pricey. And I'm not quite sure I like the interior. Still seems very plastic-ish

Yeah almost minimalistic. I get it it's a massive truck but come on if gas priceless go back up they won't get the 52k for a LS trim cloth seat and no fog lights vehicle...least not from me

Re: New ride and new to forum

Welcome Schu, enjoy your new ride,it's a great Jeep you picked.Personally I think the build quality on any of the Grand Cherokees are awesome,I own a 2011 and 2015 and both are great.I don't personally have the same model as you but know the model really well,(used friends one for a few weeks while he was on vacation)and was very impressed.Yup,gas mileage compared to your Chevy is great.Besides,if you need to move stuff,an 8ft trailer would work, and wouldn't even know your pulling it.(when I sold my truck I missed the carrying capacity but bought a really good used utility trailer I can use on any 4 of my Jeeps without issue),I really liked the two tone leather in the high altitude and feels really good quality.Anyhoo,I waffled enough, enjoy that SUV,mine are both uber reliable, then again,so is my old Wrangler and Liberty Limited! As you may have guessed,I'm a Jeep die hard.Bought and still own,my 1st one in 1990 and it's still as reliable and drives true and straight as it did back in 1990.!!!!!

Re: New ride and new to forum

That's great. When I was a kid my father had a Cherokee chief, grand wagoner, then the smaller jeep limited..came in red with gold and black wt gold. Family had two. Mother got a jeep country..all wt 4.0 HO engines. They were biker proof. Eventually Jeep made the grand Cherokee again but larger. I borrowed my fathers brand new blue/purple limited. Was in south Philly when I got broad sided. Truck flipped on its driver side, slid down street then popped back up on all four wheels. It was totaled. I drove it home to Massachsuetts. True story. I was a PI at the time. Took many many different cars (mostly BMW) to eventually get back into Jeep name brand. Seems like this is best set up for where I live and life style. My father was in to something I guess. Thanks for comments and warm welcome.

I actually had a Cherokee High Country in 2000 as well..forgot that one. Was option in 4.0 jeep Cherokee. Looked pretty bad ass.
