New seat cover- Summit

When my dealer was trying to fix the rattle in my headrest they scratched my leather. They replaced the seatt cover with a new one.
I picked it up today and this was the finished product.

Hmmmm - they didn't do a good job. They need to fit it better. Ouch!

Told them it was unacceptable. I'll give it 1 week to settle in. Unreal they would even consider giving it back to me in this condition.

Re: New seat cover- Summit

Wow that is horrible, I can't believe a dealer would let that s*** fly....oh wait strike that....there's one reason I won't pay $65K for an SRT8 LOL

In the picture it doesn't even look like the color matches the bottom seat....does it?

I had a pop and creak in my drivers seat. Took it to the dealer and was told the seat needs to break in, total bull so I took the back off myself and found the lumber roller was scraping against a plastic piece. Put some foam under the roller and no more issues. It's sad we have to fix our own cars because of lazy techs.

Re: New seat cover- Summit

He77, I installed my own Catzkin leather skins in my last vehicle and it looked better than that! Looks like they didn't fully hit the velcro strips on the side seams (or whatever Chrysler uses). You could probably do a better job yourself, if so inclined. But you shouldn't have to...

Re: New seat cover- Summit

That is unacceptable. I wouldn't stand for anything but a perfect fit and colour match.

Re: New seat cover- Summit

jeep 2011, my 2012 Overland "squeaks" or creaks when I get in it. Comes from the lumbar area. If I shift in the seat to a bigger degree it will squeak. If I increase the lumber support the squeak goes away if I get it out far enough but feels like someone has their knee in my back.

Before I take the seat back off, is this what yours did? Thanks in advance.

Re: New seat cover- Summit

This doesnt really surprise me. A lot of mechanics dont give a shit. A perfect reason why I avoid dealers if at all possible. Its atleast a 50% chance that you will get your car back with the original issue not fixed, and ontop of that they will have likely caused other problems just like in your case. So now you have a brand new forty plus thousand dollar Jeep with F'ed up seats. Sweet!

That seat needs.to heat up in the sun or warm weather to tighten the leather down. That pretty common with a new skin install........

I'm going to give it one week to form to the seat. If it doesn't I'm going go insist on a new seat. One thing I didn't mention is the plastic piece that's attached to the back of the seat now has about a half inch gap.
