New to Forum

Guys,

New to Forum and Jeep.. First off Hello to everyone...

My Brother has been a jeep guy for years and talked me into looking at the new Jeep Grand Cherokee several years back when the new WK2 came out. I drove one and loved it but wasn't ready to get a new vehicle. When it came time for the company I work for to buy me a new company car last year I talked them into a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Wife loved it so much when it finally came time for us to buy a new car we ordered her a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we went from no Jeeps to two in a year..

Things that are interesting that don't show up as changes that I found that the 2015 has over the 2014:

1. Radio controls on the back of the steering wheel. ( 15 are nice and quiet over the 14 that make a clicking noise every time you push them)

2. Cruse control ( 2015 displays the set speed and adjust speed in the display in the middle of the speedo the 2014 only shows that the cruse has been set. No set speed is shown)

3. Transmission programming ( for now I'm going to say it shifts better on the 15 but the big thing for sure is the eco button on the 15 remembers status even when the vehicle is turned off. In the 14 I have to turn off the eco mod every time I restart the car.)

4. Radio Display ( The Radio shows Jeep and SXM logo on boot the 14 just shows jeep. Also the 14 has a wood grain look to the back ground the 15 has a dry river bed back ground. The 15 Radio also shows what phone services that you are using. Mine just show Freddy's Iphone when I'm in the 15 it displays Freddy's Ipnone Att Service.

I know most of these are very small but as a whole when I get in the 15 the quiet radio buttons and not having to turn off eco mod all the time is a nice touch for the new model

Cheers,
Freddy

Re: New to Forum

Greetings, Happy New Year & Welcome,

First of all, enjoy your new 2015 JGC.

Nice observation about the changes between the 2 years.

Best for now.

The radio on my '15 has (6?) different themes you can change, don't know if the 14's had that built in or not. It still has the dry mud background but I prefer the carbon fiber look that was one of the options. I also found the nav has unique looks for the map, you can select Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, Fiat, SRT. Each one changes the color of the route, road, parks, water, etc.

I have a JGC 2015 and my eco mode resets every time I start the car. Am I mistaken?

It will stay to whatever I leave it at on my '15.

That's interesting. Mine does not stay, but rather defaults ON every ignition. Does anyone else here have their setting remembered for eco mode on their 15 WK2?

Edit: Seems like it can be resolved through a TSB: http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0809814.pdf

I guess I'll have to schedule an appointment to get this reprogrammed.
