Re: New(to me) 2015 Silver Overland
I figured I would update on my experience so far in the 2015 Overland since there are quite a few negatives all over the place that could make people shy away from these vehicles.
It has been a month and about 1,500 miles in the Jeep. Overall, I love it.
1.) V6/8Speed is better than I expected. Engine sounds pretty decent in the Overland, as well as the exhaust, considering. I still may add a K&N CAI for sound, but am satisfied for the moment.
2.) I love the indigo/brown interior. I was a bit fearful, but am glad I went with it. It is even more muted now that I had the front windows tinted to 35%(Even though they screwed both windows up and it had to be redone).
3.) Exterior. IMO, they nailed it with the Overland. I love the LED DRL, especially when I am pulling up behind other vehicles and can see the reflection.
The not so good:
1.) V6/8Speed. The shift from 1-2 right after startup is annoying. It lags, and revs higher than it needs to. After the first shift, no problems.
2.) FCW is nice, but too sensitive when set to "far". I had it engage twice while people were turning right and it thought I was getting too close, and I wasn't :-). So, I changed the setting to "near" and it is much, much better.
3.) The front USB port doesn't charge my iPhone 6, but the back ports do. Annoying.
4.) No dedicated spare change holder. WTH.
5.) The key fob is too large. My Mazda fob/key from 2006 was the size of a credit card and hid in my pocket well. This one, not so much.
Outside of the V6/8Speed gripe from 1-2 shifting on startup, I am very satisfied.
I made it through 56 pages of posts so far on Jeep Garage, and they have been very helpful. Thanks for all the knowledge base here!
