New to the Board- Ordered Overland V6

What up boys... I have two Jeeps on order

I quickly chose the new Cherokee over the new 4Runner once I saw the interior of the new Cherokee...no contest. While I was at the dealer I fell in love with a V8 Overland Saddle interior but is was only a 4x2 so I declined. The dealer found me a Silver Laredo X with the Hemi at a dealer 40 miles away and agreed to a dealer trade. I asked them if I could drive their V6 LaredoX that they were trading to the dealer and drive the V8 back to get a good feel for the difference in the engines. They agreed so I had all in all a little over 80 miles worth of test drive with the new Cherokee. I decided that after I got back I no longer felt the V8 was necessary as the V6 seemed adequate. Also the V8 I drove back didn't have a sunroof, plus a month ago I bought my wife a '11 Nissan Maxima (silver.) Decided I'd grow tired of two silver vehicles. SO.... I told them I love the Inferno Red so let's just order me one. We ordered a Laredo X offroad Adventure Black on Black, Inferno Red W/ Sunroof. Well.... a week later we received a refund check from my past vehichle that I traded for the new Maxima (extended warranties etc) and it was much higher than I anticipated. So I went back to the dealer and said... uh... lets bump it up to an Overland Black interior with Pano roof. They agreed without hesitation
Man am I excited. I mean I was before but now I have those HID lights, upgraded interior plus the pano roof. the next 6-8 weeks are going to be brutal. We were just hit with Ice/Snow and I so wish I had my Jeep to traverse the roads with as opposed to my GTi ...

Re: New to the Board- Ordered Overland V6

Thank you Scott. I find it interesting when reading other posts that the Charcoal, Black, and Mineral Gray are heavy hitters with the color options. I'm kinda excited about having a lessor chosen color. I did see a Red one on the road yesterday. I was green with envy. My Jeep is coming with the Chrome 18's I'll be quickly changin them to Black rims...would love some suggestions....

Re: New to the Board- Ordered Overland V6

I purchased a Laredo X with panoramic sunroof, Inferno Red/black leather interior, back in December. I originally wanted Mineral Gray/black leather interior on Laredo X but the dealership couldn't track one down with the pano sunroof because Jeep stopped putting the pano sunroof on Laredo's. At first I was disappointed they couldn't get a Mineral Gray one but now I LOVE THE RED. It's different and not common, I say I inadvertently got the color I really wanted. Back in 2003 I bought my first Audi and it was Amulet red/black leather interior and my GC reminds me of that car, just bigger, but believe it or not the drive is similar. Your right though, I've been on this site for about a month and all everyone talks about is Charcoal, Black or Mineral Gray. BORING. Inferno red power!

Well JF, with your zig-zag path to your final Overland order you may qualify for one of the most convoluted ordering histories we've heard yet. Good to hear you got extended test drives with two GCs.

Welcome to the Garage!

Re: New to the Board- Ordered Overland V6

Dan, I know what you're saying about the Pano roof. In fact I was told the same thing when I ordered the LaredoX that I couldn't have the Pano... Mysteriously unavailable. I'm glad I went back for the second order cause now I'm getting what I really want. When I went to the dealership this last time to order I started all apologetic about my being overly picky and indecisive. However I quickly changed that tone when I reminded myself that I was making a $40k plus purchase so I'm allowed a bit of pickiness.

Re: New to the Board- Ordered Overland V6

I personally think they stopped putting the Pano roof on the Laredo because they realized people weren't spending the extra $$$ on a Limited when they could get a Laredo with the options, X package, Pano sunroof, and get something almost as good as a Limited for less. Don't worry about being picky with the dealership. Remember even though it's Jeep, you are spending 40k+ for a car. When I bought my first Audi, I was very demanding even though I only spent about 35k. It was Audi and if they want to be a premium brand with premium prices, they have to expect a very demanding clientele. If Jeep wants to start pricing in the premium car market, they have to start acting like a premium brand and start expecting demanding customers. I just discovered my GC ambient door lights don't work, well I'm taking it back to the dealership because even though they're not a big deal, I paid for them so I want them. Just keep that in mind.
