Re: New Year not starting so well!

I feel your pain. I hate when things like that happen. I would also say check your local pdr guys and for the rim you could get it fixed by one of these mobile wheel fix it companies if you have them around you.

Re: New Year not starting so well!

So I got one estimate so for $90 for the PDR on the fender and $100-$150 to repair the wheel from a local shop. Does this seem reasonable? I was quoted this price from email pics, I did not bring it to them in person.

Re: New Year not starting so well!

Out of curiosity, how are the wheels repaired? It looks like there are gouges in the metal. Do they fill in the gouges with metal, even it all out, then re-coat the wheel? If so, then $150 sounds like a great deal (although I have nothing with which to compare it)!

They are not deep gouges, they are just deep scratchs. So I think they can sand them down, prime and repaint/clearcoat just the damaged area. I don't think they have to redo the whole wheel, at least that's what I have read on how it's done, again they are going off pics I sent them. So once I bring it to them, they can give me a better estimate on what needs to be done. I did stop at a second bodyshop and they quoted me $400 to do the repairs. They would need to bring someone in to do the PDR and would send the wheel out to be repaired. the first place I talked to can do it all in their shop, so maybe that't why they are cheaper.
