You people can't handle facts lol. Keep making things up in your heads. Like I said even using the national average the price doesn't have people running to buy diesels here. Gas is king and will be for a long time so your "Many" 1%ers are nothing compared to what clearly is the majorities choice in using gasoline as the right choice for them as well...

What facts are you actually referring to? Because as of this point, on this thread, and on any other thread you've ruined, you have yet to provide any actual hard facts with empirical data that shows exactly what it is you're talking about. You've gone to great links to spout off some rhetorical numbers - numbers that seem to make you "lol" "rofl" or "thumbs up(to your own posts)". Your not contributing anything by ramrodding your opinions down everybody else's throats. Yes, these boards are for sharing opinions, but when you share your opinions and comments they become biased and negative. Why it is you go out of your way to bash anyone that doesn't conform to your mindset is very questionable.

Fact one percent of car sales in the us are diesel.

Fact the national average gas price today 10/20 is 3.20 a gallon.

Its pathetic that you seriously can't deal with the fact that people that buy diesels in the us based on the fact that they are good on gas come out huge losers in the deal unless they tow heavy loads regularly.

Like I said in other countries this differs greatly and diesels can actually be the better choice. Here though you stand alone in the vast minority.

Sorry you are in denial. But no lol's about this one your just annoying I'm not pushing my view on anyone the numbers speak for themselves. I'm sure I'll come back to find you clearly disregard how much more expensive the diesel option is in every single fashion for US owners from upfront costs, double maintenance, higher prices at the pump, no lifetime warranty available, and def addition regularly, more complex unnecessary emissions systems bound to cause further issues down the road.

That will all be ignored because hey, you bought a diesel so you're biased and being a sore loser when facts speak for themselves.

So don't buy one...and don't fret about anybody else who chooses differently. What's good for them doesn't have to be good for you. Like I said, it's a choice and a subjective one, at that.

I particularly like the 30mpg and more importantly the range on a single tank of gas. That's worth paying extra for in my book. I plan on keeping the car for 200k miles so it should even out. It would be a much better argument for diesel if the price was half for that engine. I'm guessing in the next model generation it will be as the manufacturer tries to meet tougher mandates. The US will continue to see more and more cars sold with diesel engines each year. One thing to note, the US has much higher taxes on diesel fuel, about 3x the tax that's on gasoline. If that tax was more in line with gasoline then it would be a lot easier to convert everyone to wanting diesel. E85 was cheaper but once the consumer found out it got worse mileage then that gimmick died.
