newbie here, thinking of buying, suggestions?

I'm sold on the diesel so that's a go. Can't decide if I want to step up to the Off Road Adventure II or just get the I, is the 100% locking diff really useful? I don't plan on doing serious off road or rock climbing with it but plenty of in the snow driving. Any other suggestions on options?

if you are only doing light offroad I can't see the sense in a rear locker.

Could be useful in a bad drift... there's only so much that traction control can do. Whether you can justify it for that rare occurrence is another matter...

Cheers,
Steve

Depending on where he lives it may not be such a rare occurrence.

That's a fair call... I was just trying to be balanced.

No snow here. Ever.

Re: newbie here, thinking of buying, suggestions?

As stated, sometimes it's useful for other situations that are not involving off-road. Where you live might be a factor...if you are in the snow belt, it's worthy of your consideration if your budget will support the highest level drive-train. I never go off-road (outside of some muddy parking areas at horse shows) or a rare beach drive and we don't get that much snow in this area, but I like knowing that I do have the tiny bit if extra capability that is inherent with QD.

The green grass is a nice contrast to my autumn blaze maples right now.

Re: newbie here, thinking of buying, suggestions?

Tire choice will be more important for snow than a Rear Locker.

Have a diesel. Wanted the ELSD, but didn't want to Quadra lift and can't get one without the other - so I got off-road I package.

Re: newbie here, thinking of buying, suggestions?

Why no quadra lift? Sounds like a useful thing, curious why you wouldn't want it. just don't like air springs?

thanks for your thoughts!
