New to the WK2 platform but not new to Jeeps. Had owned a ZJ & currently own WJ (180,000 miles & still going strong).

I've been looking pretty hard at the 2015 Altitudes and know that this will be our next Jeep. I'm working with a local dealership that has found the one I want and will do a "dealer trade" for me to get this Altitude.

My question is on the price. He has offered it to me for $35,585 + $279 docking fee which I don't think is too bad, but I told him we would do $35,000 out the door but they haven't budged on that number. They're also offering 2.9% for up to 72 months. With the down payment we have our monthly payments would be under $400.

My wife and I are thinking that there still may be discounts and incentives to be had as we approach the end of the month and end of the year. We think we should wait and see - but the more I look at the Altitudes the more I want ;)
I wanted to touch bases here with those a little more knowledgeable than I when it comes to Altitudes

>>Do I wait or do I jump?<<

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Jump. Ur not gonna find a better deal if it's local to you.

If you want to get in on the DC group buy u might be able to get lower than 2.9% for 72 months but that all depends on your credit. Final Price before tax title and fees will be very similar to the price you posted. I don't expect them to be able to budge at all from that price they offered you now or in the foreseeable future.

That additional, $864 (from my offer of $35k), makes very little difference in our monthly payment.

I may go and talk to them tomorrow morning. Gotta be home before 2:30 to watch the Husker/Wisconsin football game :D

Sounds good. You definitely should feel confident you are getting a solid deal at that price. Did it take you a lot of negotiating? Good luck I'm loving my 2015 altitude so far. Just hit 1k miles!

Not much negotiating at all actually. I was pretty fair when I told them what we wanted to spend and when I asked them for their bottom line, with the sales manager in attendance. I was holding out for a little more off. I feel really good about my "new & improved" deal

Sure, I'd be glad too. It was truly a painless process for me.

I can PM you the info & my salesman's name if you like. If you give me your name and tell him I sent you I could get a $100 referral from him.

Mine for reference was a
2015 altitude with premium sound, backup cam and sensor, and trailer tow package for 36,300 through the DC group buy.

Not sure what the current incentives are but its worth the trip to northern Virginia for the price in the group buy. Check out the DC group buy thread.

Skunkd those are the exact options I am wanting. With the DC group buy was it $36,300 plus $499 fee. Freight included in that? The dealer I am working with wants $37321 plus $200 doc fee. Atitude I would take the deal and then let me know what dealer it is. Would be nice if someone did a midwest group buy. :)

Ok my exact numbers are...

36,286.74 - 7% below invoice.

Processing fee went up to $599 in October when I picked it up, but when I showed up Nader applied a 500 dollar factory rebate to the price

So it ended up being 36,385.74 including the group buy fee, incentive, and yes freight included in that.

Just add tax title and fees to that for your specific state. My local dealers wouldn't budge so I told them off and went straight to Nader I wasn't even expecting a 500 dollar factory rebate to be applied and without me saying anything he just took it off the price. I've never felt at such ease and nothing ever felt like a scam, nor did they push anything on me.

I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with the DC group buy. They have an enterprise rental office on site at the dealership so I rented a car one way to them and dropped it off there and drove my new jeep home. I'd do it again and will definitely be using then again in the future! A long day but in the end I am happy.

Re: Newbie with a Question on 2015 Altitude Price UPDATE

I just got back from the dealership. The Altitude they found for trade has since been traded to another dealership another 250 miles away. We talked and he said by the time it got back here it would have probably have around 700-800 miles on it. I told him I didn't want to do that, since it would have too many miles on it and who knows how the "transporters" treated it on the trips. Didn't want to take a chance.

Anyway, we found another but it was also a few hundred miles away. He called and that dealership wanted a equal trade and the one my dealership had to trade did not have the back up camera.

My dealership actually had one at one of their many dealerships, about 50 miles away, but it is equipped with the tow package as well. I told him I wasn't interested in the tow package and the additional $800 on top.

He talked to the sales manager and rather than trade the other dealership for the one they had with the tow package, he offered it to me at the same price quoted for the other one I was going to get, $35,580+$279 docking fee.

Can you guess what I did...?

Yep, wrote him a $500 deposit check and signed the purchase agreement right then. He's going to try and get me 2.3% for 72 months, but even at 2.9% for 72 months, I think I got a good deal.

What's nice about this trailer tow group IV package, that I didn't know about at the time, is that it comes with a 180 amp alternator, rear load leveling suspension (not exactly sure what that is), heavy duty engine cooling and a full-size spare (wondering if it has the black 20" wheel on it).

Needless to say, I'm pretty happy about the purchase - now if the Huskers can win today it would be a perfect Saturday

Can't imagine having one of these without a tow package, who knows your scenario may change and then BAM, you need to tow a trailer for yourself, for a friend, for a neighbor! In any case it will help you at resale, I wouldn't buy one without! Consider it a lucky accident, and it sounds like you got it for free, :)

Congrats!

And that full size spare will be on an 18" steel wheel with a tire that is slightly narrower than the normal four corners. That's what fits in the bin and it's specifically there to be used as a spare, not to be rotated in. It's the same diameter as your regular tires. Safety is the reason that a full-size spare comes with the towing package..."donuts" cannot support a situation when you have a flat while pulling something behind. For the record, this is the same full size spare that comes on every trim level that provides for a full size spare.

Just to let everyone know, 2 of our forum members contacted the dealership I bought mine from this week and are now proud new owners of 2015 Altitudes.

One of the Altitudes is being delivered to the owner in Tennessee!

Sounds like a very good dealership / dealer to deal with you should share their info on here for others as well that may be closer than the DC and Texas group buys

It's been a great buying experience for me so far at Performance Jeep of Bellevue, NE. Thanks to Altitude for posting in here. They gave me the same deal on the same configuration. I have to either pick it up or they will drive it out to me for a very reasonable price or they'll even put it on a flatbed for actual cost. I'm at DC group buy pricing even after additional shipping since their doc fees are only $279! This is the first American vehicle I've purchased and I'm in my 40s. Tried hard to like the new 4Runner as my past 2 vehicles are 4Runners, but couldn't get over the face only a mother could love and an interior that was far outclassed by the Jeep. Hoping the reliability is as good. We'll see. Now trying to decide if I want the Navigation activated????

I've owned Grand Cherokees for about 15 years and have had zero issues. My 95 ZJ was my DD for years and I built it to be a stout off road vehicle and was still my DD. Sold it with 173k on it and it was still running strong. Our 99 WJ has 182k and is still going strong. That's why we bought another - and because these Altitudes are just plain cool. You'll have many years of fun with yours as long as you give it proper maintenance.

Great to hear Altitude. I forgot to mention there was no comparison in the drive and handling of the JGC vs. the 4Runner. The Jeep feels much much better. Driving the 4Runner for more than a 200 mile trip would be no fun at all. Also, the drivetrain on the new 4Runners is ancient. The only thing I'll miss is the power rear window.

That's pretty cool, man.
A couple of weeks ago you couldn't find anything decent for a decent price in your area, now you're driving yours home tomorrow.

Glad you were able to work out a deal with them. My experience with them went very smooth. No muss-no fuss and I'm glad yours did too.

I know how it is looking all over in your area not to find anything, then all of a sudden... Boom!

Don't forget to post some pics when you pick it up at the dealership.

These guys at Performance in Bellevue, Nebraska are legit. Randall Crutcher and Erick Cruz were great. If you are in the midwest and looking to get a great deal and service I highly recommend them. I am extra picky and they went above and beyond to make me happy. There was a cosmetic issue from the factory on the black one I was going to buy. Randall was able to locate another at their lincoln location with the same features that had just been delivered. We drove over with Erick and swapped them. Very happy with how it turned out. By the way Toyo- I saw your granite crystal on the lot and it looked great.
