Discount tires aren't as "discount" as they used to be. They're just closer than anyone else.

That may be. But it's probably a safe bet that this doesn't translate into the quality or pay of their employees. It's unfortunate they chipped your wheel in the process. No matter how good the equipment is it still takes care in using it.

Re: Newbie with a Question on 2015 Altitude Price

My only experience with them is when I had a set of Cooper Discoverers put on my wife's WJ. They had "kids" (pretty young people) literally running around the installation area. It was just like an assembly line from my viewpoint. If I would have to guess, I'd say that a few of them were new to the job. They did a fine job though

Re: Newbie with a Question on 2015 Altitude Price

Yeah I've never had a problem with them with previous installs. The whole thing just irked the hell out of me (from the Duratracs being out of stock, to the KO2s arriving late, taking twice as long to get them on as quoted, and then obviously the wheel damage).

The only other time I had issues with wheel damage was a set of concave rims on a car about 12 years ago at Midas. I've had probably 8-10 sets installed since then, most at DT, without issue.

I need to clean it up a bit and then I will. I spent a couple of hours working on the HID kit today before calling it quits. I'm going to try to return them and go with something else. Too much of a PITA for it to be called a "plug and play" kit imo.

Anyway, the KO2s so far have been great. They ride smooth and there's very little difference in cabin noise. You have to listen for it, which is totally different than my experience with the AT3s. The cornering feels a bit stiffer but there's no rubbing. They look great as well. I'm anxious to see how they handle the elements and some of these back roads around here.

Are you on stock suspension? I was debating to go that tire size but don't want to risk rubbing. I'm on a stock 14' Altitude suspension.

Yep, stock suspension. I've done a couple of u-turns already any no rubbing whatsoever.

I've been a big fan of Discount Tire for a long time... But the last time I had my 2011 GC Limited in there w/ the 18" wheels they came out REALLY chipped. 3 of the 4 had big chips around the center caps. Unfortunately I didn't notice it for a few weeks but I'm sure that's where it happened. First time I've had a bad experience but you better believe I'll inspect everything now.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I'm a couple hours away from Bellevue and I'm trying to buy an Altitude in the next month or so. I see that they sold to you for $35,580+$279 docking fee. Are they still offering that deal and who should I contact? Thanks!

Not a problem, seniormon2. They might be able to get you that price since it's been a few months since we bought ours. Heck, you might even get it for less

I'll send you a PM with his name & number. Please let him know that I sent you.
