The dealership I just visited quoted me $0 down/$450 per month including taxes on a $39K base price. That was his first offer after I asked him I just wanted a quote as I had to leave.

Thanks in advance.
Unless incentives are tied to financing, you should get the same price for a lease.

Negotiate the price of the car then worry about a lease.

Currently with Ally there's somewhere around up to $6750 in rebates altogether, although you may not qualify for them all ($1k competitive lease conquest cash, etc) that you can stack between the ally incentives and certain Chrysler incentives.

As others have said you should be looking at 5-6k off MSRP on any 15s left on a dealer lot.

Can't tell you if that lease price is good without MSRP, sale price, money factor, residual, fees, etc.

Re: Newbie with a Question on 2015 Altitude Price

For '15 GC Altitude 4x4 including 9 speaker w/ sub, rear view cam (check attached window sticker):

MSRP: $41,625
Discount: $3,630
Rebate: $1,000
Your Price: $36,995
Registration: $384.75
OC Tax: $3,046
Doc Fee: $80
Total (out the door): $40,505.75 --> negotiated further to $40K

Dealer doesn't know if I'm buying or leasing yet as I'm trying to get lowest price first. According to him he said this is his "absolute" lowest. Other dealer I sent this to said same and won't be involved in price wars + GC are really hot so chance they'll be gone.

As for MF/Residual, I got this from a edmunds forum:
.00002 MF and 47% Residual

I'd be doing a 36mos 12K lease.

I get $541-560 tax in from those numbers.

However, you're basically at the same price "bottom line" that you can configure the same vehicle for on jeep.com. I wouldn't take it. You might want to cast your net wider and check some other dealers that might be a little further away.

I don't see the rebates available in your area but there's a $2500 lease cash available in the Mid-Atlantic now, and being the end of the model year with 16s coming there's probably similar incentives everywhere.

Hm, alright thanks for your input. I'll keep looking - got some dealers who have been trying to get in touch so I'll see what they say.

Re: Newbie with a Question on 2015 Altitude Price

No problem. I always hate to hear "final number" up front; It's very rare that a dealer leads with their best offer, they lead with the offer that makes them money.

The salesman I got my GC from got tripped up in our email exchange and was telling me his first offer was $800 below invoice. I responded "Forgive me if I'm stupid, but you expect me to believe that you offered me a price up front of $800 below invoice?"

He continued that line right through delivery, telling me that the dealership lost money but he didn't care because he still made his $150 for selling the vehicle.

Perseverance pays off though, especially once 16s start getting delivered if you can wait that long.

He made a lot more than you think. There are many people on this forum including myself who have gotten over 5% under invoice which equates to over 2k on a 40k vehicle.

Oh, I'm aware. I ended up at 5% under invoice but he was inflating "invoice" initially and trying to tell me it was $2000 more than it actually was.

Back to the point I made earlier, car sales is a shady business and it's no wonder people can't stand them. They attempt to prey on the uneducated who just need a car, and when they run up against someone who knows what they're talking about they default to making it difficult and painful.

Re: Newbie with a Question on 2015 Altitude Price

Just an FYI, on Black Friday weekend I secured a lease for an altitude with the same MSRP as that. Negotiated down to $500 below invoice (wanted $1000 below but I had traveled 2 hours to the dealership and had the wife in the ear that did NOT want to leave without it). I did a sign and drive. $0 out of pocket.

After the rebates, using a 3 year 10k miles per year lease with MF of 0.00002 and 49% residual, it came out to $460/month pre tax. In my area it is $497.84/month total.

I should note that I qualified for the conquest rebate as I had another leased vehicle from a different manufacturer at the time.

I posted all about my deal and compared the cost and benefits of it to financing during the same amount of time in one of the other threads. Would be happy to copy it here if anyone is interested. Good luck.

Re: Newbie with a Question on 2015 Altitude Price

My purchase experience was surprisingly easy. I had 2-3 short phone conversations with the internet sales person, came in for about 20 minutes to finalize the price - Done

Re: Newbie with a Question on 2015 Altitude Price

Thanks for the responses. Here's an update about leasing from the same dealer:

MSRP: $41,625
Your Price after discounts and rebates): $35,028
36 Months Lease
12,000 miles/yr.
Money factor: 0.00028
Residual: 0.47
Drive off: $1,200
$443/mo. plus tax***** OR*** $479/mo. (OC tax included)
Residual value (at the end of lease): $19,563

Final price seems good, although am I being optimistic that I can bring it down further? I would like my monthly to be as close to $400 as possible, and min down as possible - maybe $1-2K. I had another dealer tell me 0 down and $450/month including tax on a $39K 4x2 altitude 36mos 10K miles.
