I have done the exact conversion from Kuwaiti Dinars to Dollars (note we don't have any tax here and this includes the compulsory 3rd party insurance.)

Mineral Gray V8 Overland 2011, Full option (except rear DVD but includes the Panoramic roof).

$49,369.37 (USD)

That is before I sold my 2000 pathfinder V6 which got me about $5,405.41 (USD)

So overall after getting rid of my pathfinder I'm paying $43,963.96 (USD)

Granted they probably charge the import fees along with the alterations to make it compliant with Kuwaiti road laws, include 3rd party insurance, they gave me 3 year full service and 100,000 tranny warranty - it's not such a bad deal. GRanted Kuwait, a lot of things are super over priced - especially American vehicles (even if they are brought in from a factory in Europe or Asia).

Anyways, I know I may have paid a bit much to the standards/averages in the states but I'm quite happy with my Purchase. Only a few days left until I'm behind the wheel

I play to get full insurance to cover my JGC but the price they quoted me at the dealership was too inflated. I told them I'd check some insurance firms before I decided on going with their fully insured contract. (They quoted me at around $1,891.89 USD)

Agree with rushdriven. recheck the equipment levels and invoice. From that level subtract any factory provided credits. MY 11 JGC Overland w/ Hemi was $41k OTD.

Re: Newbie's perspective on buying GC

Can anyone of you guys give me a ballpark number to shoot for OTD? This would be for a 2012 Overland V6 4x4. Maybe 38K? Please advise. Thanks.

No one can give you a ballpark OTD, taxes are different everywhere you go. The most important thing is finding a number YOU are happy with...

Re: Newbie's perspective on buying GC

There's always going to be a better deal around the corner.

If the price matches your budget, ask yourself...Am I going to value the jeep more than the money I'm putting in to buy it?

If the answer is yes, then buy it!

The Paradox of Choice by Barry Schwartz (helped me get passed a lot of buyers remorse/pre and post purchase anxiety/stress/nervousness regarding any hefty investment into an asset). An excellent read for more than just buying but personal development too. (a bit off topic but I love that darn book).

Go to TrueCar.com - I used them as a resource to locate the dealer near me with the best price for my 2012 JGC Limited. I have mentioned in previous posts that i paid below dealer cost.

I went to TrueCar.com and the price the dealership gave me was 2-3k more than TrueCar.com. Their calculator doesn't account for taxes, ttl, and registration. I now have a ballpark idea of what I should be paying .
