And you might want to install things like skids, tow hooks (more involved due to fascia) and appropriate wheels/tires. Otherwise...they are "built" the same. Same suspensions, power train, etc. All else is cosmetics.
No for sure we are aware the JGC is capable based on specs alone. And that's why we buy a Jeep regardless of trim level.

It's the positioning and marketing of the Overland and Summit and even SRT that I refer to from the get go sans modifications and swapping. I'll buy the Overland if I know I'll do more off road due to removable fascia for clearance from factory. Summit/HA if i know majority of the time I'm using for asphalt travel.

Of course if a person had more time and money and depending on hobby will choose a trim level based on interior appointments and will swap exterior based on intended capability.

Re: No 2017 High Altitude?

I love the look of the HA, but I wish some of the stuff that makes it look so good weren't there so I could feel comfortable going off road. Mine will never see more than a dirt road at this point so I may go for a Trailhawk next year since I love the DD comfort of the GC over my Rubicon. I love the Rubicon for its off road capabilities. I'm hoping the Trailhawk will offer a nice compromise.

Re: No 2017 High Altitude?

I added an Overland badge to my HA. The one from the 2010 Overland so it's black and chrome (not tan and chrome like the current emblem).

Re: No 2017 High Altitude?

So I have been thinking...if December roles around and there is still no sign of 2017 HA in site, I wonder if any of the left over 2016 HA models could be had for around 40k or under at that time? I think that may be the only way I would buy a 2016 model with no CP.

Other than that this is going to be a frustrating 6 months or so checking here everyday hoping for new info

I doubt there will be any left at that time but I hope I'm wrong.

I completely agree with you... The HA is just so nice that I'm afraid to truly utilize it's Jeep capabilities... I purchased a leftover 2015 HA last month and now that I'm seeing the 2017 Trailhawk it's got me thinking too...

Re: No 2017 High Altitude?

The only advance information available at this time just says "Altitude", which could refer to "Altitude" or "High Altitude".

Hmmm, maybe an "MA" (Mid-Altitude) based on the Limited? (lol)

Haha! At this point, I don't care what kind it is as long as some version of Altitude is released for MY17. But of course I'd prefer the High Altitude.

Who knows maybe I would even settle for that. I kept seeing for months what I thought was a velvet red HA, turns out it was the 'low altitude'

Should have noticed that with the trim around the wheel wells but the thing still looks sick and could I settle for that..possibly. Would need to see what a maxed out one comes with for options.

I know that, I am starting a petition for an official name change to low altitude for below sea level dwellers
