I filled out a new car inquiry on my employers discount site and I got bombarded with emails and phone calls from Jeep reps. One rep returned my email and said the High Altitude will not be an available trim for 2017? Is this true, has anyone confirmed this?

If you look through the MY17 pricing/features thread up above, you'll note that HA has not been confirmed by Milous. With Trailhawk being added, 75th Anniversary continuing and a lower level Altitude package being available for MY17, they may be avoiding too many choices. While HA was sorta called out as a "trim level", in reality, it was more or less a special edition Overland. And special editions come and go...

Well if there is no My17 Altitude (High or standard) then I guess I'll have to get a '17 Overland and black it out or get the 75th Anniversary and swap out the wheels. Either way I'm waiting to get a MY17 for the Radio upgrade/Android Auto.

I love the look of the HA. It's not perfect (chrome window strip, for example), but it's a stepping point for further customization. Wish it was actually based on a Summit than an Overland since that's how it's positioned anyway which is for the asphalt than the trail. Personally, I'm also glad it's not coming back so it truly remains a limited edition piece.

Not sure I follow. Outside it basically is a Summit, and inside is mostly Overland with exception to trim color and full leather steering wheel.

In the first post of the MY17 Pricing and Features thread, there is a bullet that says there will be an "Altitude" package which if things are consistent with previous, will be based on the Laredo.

It's interesting that Jeep would go from the High Altitude back to the Low Altitude after discontinuing it for MY16, but I am glad because I assume there will be some upgrades on the MY17 that us older model folks can cannibalize.

Well maybe not "assume" as much as hope.

Physically, that's likely possible. Cost wise...probably a "wow"...

Well I agree the price would definitely be higher than the Summit pricing to start with and may be out of reach to others.

What throws me off is that my perception of an Overland is that this model is built more for off-road capability and the Summit is more for asphalt guys.

So for an HA to be an Overland...But I guess that's why they deleted the Overland badge than created a blacked out version which I'm glad it was in a way de-badged.

I can't figure out why they removed the Overland badge on the liftgate... after all, the HA is still an Overland. They at least should've had a High Altitude badge on it.

Overall, I think the HA is the best of all the trim levels as far as looks and features go.

I love the look of the HA, but I wish some of the stuff that makes it look so good weren't there so I could feel comfortable going off road. Mine will never see more than a dirt road at this point so I may go for a Trailhawk next year since I love the DD comfort of the GC over my Rubicon. I love the Rubicon for its off road capabilities. I'm hoping the Trailhawk will offer a nice compromise.

So I have been thinking...if December roles around and there is still no sign of 2017 HA in site, I wonder if any of the left over 2016 HA models could be had for around 40k or under at that time? I think that may be the only way I would buy a 2016 model with no CP.

Other than that this is going to be a frustrating 6 months or so checking here everyday hoping for new info :)

I thought the HA had acoustic glass? I saw on my build sheet.

The big reason I'm glad the HA was based on the Overland and not the Summit is the tighter tuned air suspension. I need to test drive a Summit again but the floaty air suspension is the only reason I would not get a Summit.

Someone Please Answer...
If a MY17 Trailhawk is ordered with all available options (i.e. Safety & Luxury Group), what would be missing when compared to the HA?
1. 18" wheels.
2. No headlight washers?

The look of a summit is also missing. The HA although based off the overland had the exterior look of the summit. The plastic around wheel wells is the biggest turn off for me. I may go the 2017 Summit route if no HA this year. Or a 2016 HA if any are left when CarPlay comes out and can be confirmed that it could be installed in a 2016 model.

That's what I thought he said, he wanted the look of the Summit/HA painted flares. Then I got confused. :X

Wanted to bump this to see if anyone knows if Jeep will be releasing a 2017 HA at the 2nd half of this year like the 2015 HA??? Anyone know?

The Altittude looks sick. But since its based on the laredo i can easily tell the difference in cabin noise vs the overland i had. Still like it though cause ive always liked hearing the soumd of the engine. FCA should have offered a hemi option on a 4x2 altittude. These days they only offer a hemi on 4x4 starting at the limited trim.
