Re: No Heated Steering Wheel!

Love the heated steering wheel. My hands are always cold and it feels so good....

Re: No Heated Steering Wheel!

My son is being taught how to drive by a professional, but I still take him driving. I just about fell out of the truck laughing when we got in the truck, and he said " The Steering Wheel is cold ".

Re: No Heated Steering Wheel!

Heated steering wheels, heated seats, heated shifting knobs,... All of this discussion sounds so strange from a southwesterner's vantage. Probably like air conditioning to an Alaskan.

Re: No Heated Steering Wheel!

That made me think about this weekend. As we were leaving the slopes, my husband and I were grumbling about the 9degree weather and our cold rears from the ski lift. Luckily the remote start has decent range and the heated seats were nice and toasty by the time we got to the Jeep and got the gear stowed. Heated seats and steering wheels are those additions once you have them, you dont ever want to go back to a vehicle without!

Re: No Heated Steering Wheel!

The first time I had a heated steering wheel was my '05 X5 and missed it until I got my WK2 and 300. Such a nice feature to have, don't miss it until you don't have it. As mentioned earlier, heated/cooled cup holders are nice too.

Re: No Heated Steering Wheel!

I still drive with one hand on the steering wheel and one on the shifter so I could see the benefit of the heated shifter. Habit from driving a manual 5-speed for my first car.

But it only turns on the driver's side. Do you take turns driving after remote start? HA!

Several manufacturers do (Land Rover, Porsche, Mercedes Benz, etc...).

The big issue with them is.... ever get a crack in your windscreen?

Ever had to replace a windscreen?

Now add a proprietary heating system to that cost...

I'll stick with my $0.59 pastic ice scraper.

As for the heated steering wheel, I have one in my Merc. It sounds silly, but, man, on a cold morning, that thing is nice to have (like heated seats and a block heater).

Ive gotten cracked windshields before, and for that matter is why I have glass coverage on my insurance policy. The glass cracks, they replace it no cost to me.
