Noisy suspension in ORII?

Is it normal for the suspension to be very noisy in ORII? It sound like it is hitting bump stops on all four corners. This is driving over just about anything larder than the size of a marble at more than 3 or 4 mph.
If it is normal then I don't know how you guys live with it in ROCK mode on a trail.
It really is bad enough that it sounds as if something is about to break. Been like this since new. I understand that the airbags are more inflated, i.e. harder, but I can't imagine that it would be acceptable during the design process.
The clunk is more noticeable the higher the vehicle. Still noisy in ORI, but less so.
In my area we have a section of road where they have raised a row of bricks by about an inch above the road surface. This servers as speed bumps/ridges to slow traffic down. The noise is bad enough that I lower it to PARK height and drive below 10mph.

Re: Noisy suspension in ORII?

When I was running in ruts on the beach, I heard the stops being hit because of the ripples in the ruts and had to slow down. This was never problem with my 2003 GLC with conventional suspension.

Re: Noisy suspension in ORII?

Yes it is a known problem that there is limited suspension travel and the bump stops are constantly being hit in ORII

Re: Noisy suspension in ORII?

I have have only driven maybe 50 feet in ORII and it was stiff. I don't really consider this something that is functional. I would never try to use it for offroading. It's more of something for looks when your not moving.
