Not sure my GC is better, but ...

I had the computer re-flashed with all the applicable updates today when I took it in for an oil change. The Jeep is 9 months old and I've only had one problem - the theft alarm going off twice for no reason. The computer update includes a fix for the alarm.

So, it'll be interesting to see if there's any noticeable change, now that I'm up to date.

Re: Not sure my GC is better, but ...

Am definitely interested to see if the alarm issue is fixed, especially since mine went off today. Would be great if all it needs is a simple re-flash/update.

Re: Not sure my GC is better, but ...

Alarm went off twice again today!

Can't understand why this would just start happening "out of the blue" after 3,000 miles?

Anyhow, called the dealer and fortunately they were aware of the flash/update. Am bringing it in tomorrow morning. Wondering what other updates / flashes it could need?

Not really exhibiting any other symptoms.

Re: Not sure my GC is better, but ...

I've put about 300 miles on the Jeep in the last two days since the flash update. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I think the GC is accelerating more smoothly with smoother gear shifts. Time will tell if the alarm issue has been fixed. So far, so good.

Re: Not sure my GC is better, but ...

Just returned from a 1500 mile road trip to Virginia Beach and back. The GC performed flawlessly - no alarms, false starts, shutters, leaks or rattles. Averaged about 22.5 MPG (US). WOW, the Jeep will be 9 months old in 2 days, and not one major issue to report. I've owned a number of new vehicles over the past 40+ years and this GC is best one yet.

Oh, I forgot to mention one problem. On the way back, I decided to go cross country on a back road to save time. It was raining, and I found out the corn fields had just been fertilized with liquid cow manure. The road was covered with the stuff. There was a big rig in front of me that sprayed the GC all over with the cow SH!T!!!!. What a mess. Luckily, the rain stopped and I found a good car wash. My wife was ready to jump out of the Jeep & walk, due to all my whining.
