Odds of Model Year Clearance Incentives?

Since the mid-cycle refreshed 2014 models will be rolling out soon, what do you think the odds are that there will be factory incentives on the 2013s?

Re: Odds of Model Year Clearance Incentives?

I'd say better than average after the 2014 starts hitting the dealer lots

Re: Odds of Model Year Clearance Incentives?

It will depend on what kind of inventory is left on the lots. A month ago the 3 dealers near me had very few JGCs. This week they have quite a few, so they must have stocked up. But with 14's a couple of months away they may mostly be gone.

Re: Odds of Model Year Clearance Incentives?

They are advertising clearance commercials in our area (Minnesota/Wisconsin) but it does not include Overland, special edition, or SRT models. At least that what I could read in the teeny tiny flashed print for a millisecond at the end of the commercial.
I don't recall how much the discount was.

Also, if you don't know any better you'll go in and they'll just take that off the sticker instead of the invoice price. It's all a numbers game to them but if you know the rules (if you don't, search this site), you can turn it into your game! HA!

Re: Odds of Model Year Clearance Incentives?

When I bought my 2013 in September, there were already incentives on them (actually better than the 2012's, totalling around $2k). So I would not worry about them.

Re: Odds of Model Year Clearance Incentives?

Right now I think the only thing on the 13s is some dealer cash. There is a hemi 'rebate' as well, but it doesn't apply to overlands. There aren't a ton left and they have to last into the new year so i doubt anyone in detroit is in a hurry to move them by giving away margins just yet. I'd suspect there might be a little more on the hood come January, but I'm kinda thinking there won't be enough left to really matter at that point. If you're looking to get a 13 now is the time. Wait too much longer and you'll have to compromise on options as you'll only have a few dealers with any inventory left.

Re: Odds of Model Year Clearance Incentives?

I get a phone call and email from a local dealer every week wanting me to come in and get a '13' and trade in my '10'. I told them so many times that I'm waiting for a '14' but they keep telling me they aren't aware of them coming out soon. They think I'm full of crap.

They don't think you're full of crap, they're trying to get you to do what they want. Personally I think it's a bad idea to get a '13 now. Aside from the new features/functionality (8 speed trans, new radios, etc) of the 14's, you're basically buying something that is 1 year old a couple months after you buy it. I doubt that the rebates would be more than the added depreciation.

I Agree with this - in my case I needed a reliable vehicle in Sep, 6mo. before the 2014's were available. I will be looking at the 2014+ diesel later this year or next.

Re: Odds of Model Year Clearance Incentives?

I bought my '13 now because I got 3800 off sticker. $1500 rebate plus additional bartering. That included the Mopar front, rear, and cargo area slush mats and Mopar locking lug nuts.

Did you mean 3800 off invoice and not sticker?

Just curious....
