Re: Old Skool, or Just Cool?

Good write-up, moosehead..funny and true...lots of hand-wringing over the "new and improved" features.

Now what's your opinion on 2013 Bright Silver versus 2014 Billet
Silver ? Which one looks better ? in the sun ? in the shade ? in snow ? in rain? on the highway ? in the hood ? which will get the more "looks" ? better resale value ? which interior matches best ? which blends in better with the chrome ?

Help me before I double up on the anti-anxiety meds and wash them down with a fifth of bourbon !!

Oh..I see, they're just about the same...virtually identical, and..... nobody else really cares or gives a sheet

Re: Old Skool, or Just Cool?

I do not own a new wk but You are right the 14 is ten times better than the 11-13. I was at dealership and was looking at the 14 and the few 13 they had on the lot. I was thinking if I got a 11 to 13 Wk I would mad as hell how much the 14 got with make over. I been a jeep owner of the brand for years. They do little changes to the jeep not to much but with this 14 change is most they have done before.

Hey, I resemble that remark! I got one of those old, worn out, muddy, should-be-discarded-but-still-holding-on door mats.

Re: Old Skool, or Just Cool?

Was thinking the new Cherokee with mini-Pentastar & 4500 lb towing makes more sense than the decontented '14 WK2. Nine-speed has gotta be better than 8 even if it turns 1200 rpm at 60. Wonder if it is as tinny as the Liberty was.

I don't know. I think each person will have their own perspective. I've seen several posts that could be considered "sour grapes" but I've also seen several posts that I felt were "sour grapes" in the other direction (people bragging or dissing people who genuinely might not like the '14) and it made me wonder what the point of that was, but all that aside...I was one who got to choose, and I chose a '13 over a '14 for several reasons. Primarily for me and my family, it's about money. I'm fortunate to be in a Jeep at all. My wife and I loved a couple of the interior changes in the '14, but not enough to justify the money. We didn't like the exterior changes at all, and that's personal preference. We both thought that both vehicles drove the same. Some people might scoff at that, but it's an honest opinion. We're probably not folks who pay as much attention to that as others might.

We ran into this same situation with the '10 vs the '11. Back then, the choice was harder for us because we REALLY liked the '11 overall, but our financial situation said "no", and the dealer worked a really great deal on a '10 that we would have been fools to pass up. That Jeep was REALLY good to us right up to the day we traded it in. This time around, the choice was easier, because the changes made that we thought were positive were less important to us, the negative changes spoke louder to us, and we were also offered a great deal on the '13. If my positive '14 changes were a deal breaker, I probably would have kept the '10 a little longer and waited for incentives that fit my financial situation, or for the '15.

My $0.02. To each their own. In the end, everyone here is still driving a Jeep.
