Well, that storm tracked a little more east than most of the models, so many of us just didn't get anything close to expected. We were slated for 14-20" and got 2.5". NYC got 8" instead of some massive amount. But the folks up in New England are still getting hammered. Such is the nature of Mother Nature...

Correct, I'm only about 40 miles from NYC and we got 2 Feet, so anything could have happened.

No scheisze!!

I've got the hakka 7s, and they are sufficiently awesome on ice/snow that any fender benders would be the drivers fault.

They are also quite noisy--even noisier than the studded Hankook's that resemble them. Noisy enough I may go back to Cooper studs when the Nokians wear out.

Plus, those square studs leave little tracks in the garage floor unless you are very careful to not turn the wheel unless the thing is moving.

Roads were covered but nothing that would stop a car. Jeep drove like there was no snow on the ground. I remember in the late 80's driving to work in 3' of snow and no one complained or made a travel ban. Half the people these days have turned into pussies and the other half have no clue to survive when the weather gets a little bad.
Wait till they predict "mild snow showers and moderate winds".
THAT'S when you stay off the roads.

We've have only one good Snowmageddon I can recall this season, but the temperatures were below zero so the snow was like powder and ice has pretty good traction at 10-15 below if nobody puts that crap liquid deicer on it.

The northern edge of the one that hit the easterners was a total yawner north of Denver. Haven't even had really good stuff on Peak to Peak yet this season.

When Buffalo got hit in late November, we never saw all that media hype and man did they ever get it! Any members here from that area with some GC's in action pic's?

Locally, or in the USA, most probably...But for us in Canada, that storm did not attract as much coverage as this miss in NYC yesterday...Don't remember CNN covering as much that's for sure...I mean yesterday they had ''MOBILEBLIZZARD'' patrols for crying out loud!
